Who do we stand a better chance of upsetting? Tech or OU?
So the Iowa State and KU games are guaranteed money in the bank lock wins that we never even need to consider, because they are already won.
Now...how do we do in last three real football games of the regular season????
Tech traditionally rapes our faces off in Lubbock. OU traditionally rapes our faces off everywhere, but when they don't we win titles. A pickle.
OU's D is statically a bit better than Tech, with a scoring defense averaging 18.8 per game and Tech at 21.1 per game. But, Tech's offense is second in the conference at 39.8 per game, and OU is averaging only 31.0. Our offense is just behind OU at 30.9 a game, and our D is averaging 24.1.
Which brings us to TCU. We can get to a bowl game by simply beating TCU. They average 23.0 per game on offense (0.1 better than WVU), and 22.8 on defense. So their D is decent....5th in the conference in scoring Defense.
We have already played 3 of the highest 4 scoring offenses and lost, but we held Baylor way below their average. So our, defensive numbers are probably a bit skewed to make us look worse than we really are.
I think we lose to both OU and Tech, but the OU game will be really ugly and we'll feel like we are "in it" for most of the game. I think we take care of TCU at home, and we head to the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.
What do you guys think???
-
Bill will school that highschool freshman in Lubbock like he does baby Holgerson.
Only good team Tech has played, they lost to.
ISU W
KU W
OU L
TCU W/L idk
TT W.

so let me get this straight, you think we're going to beat Tech in Lubbock but you aren't sure whether we'll beat TCU at home? Wow, you're dumb.
-
There's no way we win in Lubbock. We should beat TCU, ISU, and KU easily. Those three teams are awful. OU is winnable but Bob will probably clownsuit Bill.
-
Yeah, we won't have any problem with TCU. Although I think they are getting their heroin-addicted QB back

RELATED QUESTION: If you vote for 6 wins or more, what bowl do you predict?
Big 12 Conference, order in which the Bowls get to select teams:
#1 Bowl Championship Series. Automatic berth in a BCS Bowl game, preferentially the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
#2 The Cotton Bowl Classic versus SEC #3.
#3 The Alamo Bowl versus Pac-12 #2.
#4 The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl versus Big Ten #4.
#5 The Holiday Bowl versus Pac-12 #3.
#6 The Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas versus Big Ten #6.
#7 The New Era Pinstripe Bowl versus AAC #3.
-
Pretty sure you already know my sentiment
Kthx bye
-
BCS - Baylor
Cotton - UT
Alamo - OU
BWW - OSU
Holiday - Tech
Meineke Car Care Bowl - KSU WILD WILD CATS
Pinstripe - Nobody qualifies
Us, TCU, WV basically have a round robin for bowl eligibility. We should get it. If we win any beyond that, which I think we will, we will do it as underdogs.
-
5-7 :(

With this ksu team, I don't consider any wins locked up. ISU has played us close no matter how good we were or how shitty they are. And we eff up just enough to give any team, even ku, a legitimate chance to beat us.
If I had to predict though:
ISU: W (I really struggle giving us a W here because we acted like WVU was going to just let us win for about 3qtrs and this coming off a 3 game losing skid - I can't imagine how "confident" we'll be in our 3-4 selves after our win against a shitty WVU team)
TT: L
TCU: L
OU: L
KU: W

Fair enough, but make the case for TCU beating us in Manhattan :dunno:

I mean, isn't there a FrogZacker some place in the DFW area predicting they'll lose?

I'm pretty sure 'Zackers are one of a kind. Although, Carnes is trying to ride his coattails.

Our TO margin sucks, theirs doesn't. Their 3rd down def is good, ours sucks. We're not a good team. Their defense is better than ours (though I admit, as shitty as our offense is, it's better than theirs - but again, TO margin sucks).

We'll drop one. I'm saying we rally and beat OU and lose @tech. TCU doesn't worry me at all. They have zero offense. Zip. And we're playing better on D.
I'll see you guys at the Holiday bowl.

This is the last year the Big 12 will play in the Holiday Bowl. If we get into that thing, I may go. If I go, I will break the record for the amount of times someone says "Whale's Vagina" in a three-day period.

TCU is really bad. I'm surprised anyone thinks they'll beat us at home.
He'll, WVU is better than TCU.

We'll be playing Nebraska in Houston December 27th at 5pm at Reliant Stadium where Super Bowl XXXVIII was played and where Super Bowl LI will be played in 2017.

That might be the only bowl game that we would qualify for that would catch my interest enough to go
-
What is the lowest big 12 affiliated bowl? Probably looking at that one if we cut down on penalties drastically. If not, we are outside looking in.

According to the numbers KSU has a better offense and defense than Tech. Tech beat WVU by only 10, ISU by only 7, and TCU by only 10. ChUMP doesn't think highly of any of these teams, especially ISU.

Kansas State 37, Texas Tech 34: With receivers Tyler Lockett and Tramaine Thompson back in the fold, the Wildcats are finally firing on all cylinders offensively. QBs Daniel Sams and Jake Waters have been terrific lately, and, much to LHC Bill Snyder’s satisfaction, have been taking care of the ball, too. Tech has had a great run. But turnover-prone teams usually don’t fare well against Snyder-coached teams, and only six offenses in college football have turned the ball over more times than the Red Raiders. As a result, K-State continues its late-season push and hands Tech a third straight defeat.
Claire’s pick: I grew up in a Tech-loving family from Midland, Texas. I have lost sleep over this pick, and I may lose friends and a chunk of my inheritance after this is published. Unfortunately, the clock has struck midnight for Cinderella, and they are beginning to look reminiscent of last year’s West Virginia squad. #SorryDad. K-State 38-35

No, we are ahead 24-22. Instead of a fumble recovery in the end zone by Childs, it's a Zimmerman pick 6 and 100 yard return as time expires. Still pick 6, but even better, since OU smelly people will think they are getting ready to complete a pass and score the winning touchdown!
-
if we do a pick 6 as time expires they will make us kick the extra point. maybe we were up 23-22 at this point
-

No, you don't attempt the PAT with the lead and no time left. The game is just over.

I don't think so mocat

Even if they make us kick it Bill would take a knee in that scenario.

-
hmm is CFB different than NFL?
Yes. The PAT is required in the NFL because point differential could potentially be used in a playoff tiebreaker. It is not required in college as long as the touchdown puts the scoring team up by 3 or more points..
-

Were you not alive in 1998?

Also a Snyder coached team would hit the ground right after making the INT.
