With Will being the new face of the program, our representative jersey now features undershirt.

YA GOOD FOR GIPSON.  LOST WEIGHT.  SO, NOW HE'S NOT TALL AND HE'S NOT BIG.  SWEET SCIENCE.  I BET HE'S DEVELOPED SOME HANDLES AND A J.  HE'S GONNA MAKE IT RAIN FROM DOWNTOWN.  SWEET.

god alone knows if you're posting seriously or ironically, but either way i have those same concerns.  his whole game was based on being stronger than a house and now he probably isn't quite as strong.  and i doubt if he's suddenly faster than all the guys whose game was based on being fast.

from the scrimmage video he looked just as wide, despite the weight loss. I think we have a case here of an athlete "cutting up" and "gettin toned". Didn't appear to my expert eyes that he is any less strong.

he does look like a nood in that pic tho.

all caps bro.  what they hell is oscar thinking letting our short big guy lose that kind of weight.  the one advantage he had is now gone.  and, his role in our team this year is more important than even considering oscar's inability to find a big who takes our crap offense seriously

I'm sure that Weber asked Gipson to lose the weight and Gipson did. Given our lack of depth at post, this should enable Gipson to play far more minutes, which is a good thing. It is going to suck if those minutes aren't effective because Gipson no longer has the strength to be an effective undersized post, though.

but i guess you cant argue with the fact that with a decrease in mass comes a decrease in inertia

This will be offset by an increase in quickness, or in Gip's case a decrease in slowness.

It's oscar's strategy.  What other D-1 team is starting a svelte 6'6'' center?  None.

PROFIT.
