Does Manhattan have an airoport? We are flying in Friday night and are thinking we will need to go to KC?
-
Yes!

Make sure you buy your last-minute ticket with straight cash, homey.
-
Do we have an airport? Yes. Can you afford a ticket? Probably not.

Direct flights into Manhattan from Chicago and Dallas. Pittsburgh to KC is probably the way you wan to go, however. Rent a car at the airport and drive 2 low-traffic hours to Manhattan down I-70. Though, if you don't like driving, just connect through DFW.

if they put it out there right now, they might be able to hitch a conversion van ride. :dunno:

After doing a little checking with the airlines, probably the right choice. Will enjoy the drive from KC. Do the Flint Hill inhabitants still live in soddies?

It's tapered off a bit, what with the housing bubble.

Looking for a place to sleep indoors for a change?

if you do fly into Manhattan make sure it's the Manhattan International Airport rather than the Manhattan Downtown Airport. can be confusing at times.
-
Haven't checked prices, but if you're going to Manhattan, it may be cheaper just to fly into New Ark (WSC :rimshot:).

Maybe, but if he flies in KC and drives, he can stop by Lawrence and check out the Gridiron Club.

Bring your own raccoon and have Kites make it into a burger

If you bring a turtle into Rusty's they will make you turtle soup.

Does Manhattan have an airoport? We are flying in Friday night and are thinking we will need to go to KC?
Just tell the captain to drop you off at the bar aggiesville
-
I'm sure the bus depot will see plenty of action this weekend...

If you make your way to Aggiesville be sure to bring cab fare. Manhattan is great about bringing in extra taxis on football weekends to get patrons home safely. Don't :drink: & :driving:
-
fly into KC and then walk down to 2737 Southwest Blvd. it's not that far. there you'll find the pickup for Los Paisanos Autobuses. tell Heraclio that GFA sent you. he'll put you on a bus to Manhattan straight away, cheap.
-
Make sure you keep the time change in mind. The game kicks off at 4:30 your time.
-
scientifically speaking, the airport in MHK is found at 39.1411° N, 96.6717° W

Well, howdy! :Carl:
I'd figure your best (fastest/easiest) route will be PGH => ORD => MHK, but I could be wrong. Have fun in Manhappiness.

This thread seems as good a place as any to ask about something that's always been perplexing to me, I suppose...
With all the efforts by so many to push "political correctness" (and gawd knows this place loves it some PC!), is the western virgina mascot, "mountaineer", just a more PC way of saying "hillbilly"?
I'll hang up and listen off air.
:Carl:

Thought you Kansas boys had better grammar than this...maybe they do at The University of Kansas...anyway it's Mountaineer with an emphasis on eeeeer. I would venture to guess that Kansas has more "hillbillies" than West Virginia since you are basically a suburb of Missouri.

Well that is just mean and inaccurate.

Wrong. We have more billies, though. If we had more hills, it might be close.

Kansas isn't usually associated with hills...it would probably be another term. Maybe plainswilliams.

Does Manhattan have an airoport? We are flying in Friday night and are thinking we will need to go to KC?
What you're going to want to do is start paddling north on the mighty Monongahela river. At Pittsburgh take the Ohio northwest. Follow that around til you come to the Mississippi River junction near Cairo Illinois. Take the Mississippi north (I hope you're strong, she's tough to paddle upstream) til you reach the Missouri River just north of St. Louis. Head west on the Missouri til you get to Kansas City at which point pay close attention because the river forks and you're going to want to take the south fork which is the Kansas River. From there is smooth sailing all the way to Manhattan.
You might wanna get that journey started now, tho.

You might be able to take a shortcut by jumping on the D.C. to K.C. Express Google Tube.

Missouri is erudite and cosmopolitan compared to West Virginia. Is there something to describe more backwards than hillbilly? :Take the Bait:

I'm no expert on these matters, but as an outside observer, it seems that the Mountaineeeeeeeer is more of a 'mountain man,' (think Grizzly Adams) than a hillbilly. I am related to some Ozark hillbillies and they don't dress anything like this Mountaineeeeeer fella.
BTW - there aren't many (any?) hillbillies in Kansas (plenty of gErs got this right, there aren't many hills for them to populate - maybe there are some in the Flint Hills?). Plenty of Midwestern hicks tho. :th_twocents:

They like to think of themselves as "montain men" but in reality they are just too stupid to move out of the hills and do anything besides live off the gov.

Once they're done leveling all their mountains for the precious, precious coal in them, will they have to change their mascot to the plateauneers?

If I was forced to choose between a good person that was adorable, or someone who is very, very rapey, I am confident I would choose good/adorable over bad/rapey 100% of the time regardless of what logo they wear.
