Anyone have any experience?
My gpa had a baseball signed by the 1977 Yankee's that has been collecting dust for the past 30 years in a dresser drawer before I found it.
Its signed by Thurman Munson and a bunch of other players and according to the interwebz could be worth around $700.
Should I just throw it up on ebay? Does it need to be certified? Any local places that will buy it?
-
Maybe find a Yankee BBS and see if anyone wants it?
-
Write a handwritten letter to Rex Hudler with a photo of the ball and see if he would be willing to get you into the booth for the Royals-Yankees series at the K this year.
-
I have a hand collected 1988 Topps complete set plus hundreds of duplicates. These were handled shitloads by a little canadian kid while they were being assembled into a complete set. Anyone want to buy it for like $500 or so?

this set includes the coveted 1988 Tom Glavine rookie card iirc.

Being the huge Yankees fan that I am, I will paypal you $100 right now for that baseball.

But seriously guyz, how do I do this? Should I just go into the local pawn shop and see if they have an expert they can call in to appraise it?

I clicked on this link for a baseball that they want $17k for
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-76-THURMAN-MUNSON-NEW-YORK-YANKEES-SINGLE-SIGNED-BASEBALL-PSA-DNA-RARE-/310662356365?pt=US_Autographs&hash=item4854eb5d8d (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-76-THURMAN-MUNSON-NEW-YORK-YANKEES-SINGLE-SIGNED-BASEBALL-PSA-DNA-RARE-/310662356365?pt=US_Autographs&hash=item4854eb5d8d)
you should figure out what this means full letter of authenticity from spa/dna
-
Yeah, I mean if its gonna take like 3 months to get it appraised and certified I'd rather just sell it to someone now for half the value.
Reading up on it now...

1988 Topps Autographed Bo Jackson card with the bottom right hand corner bent to crap. Highest bidder takes this beaut. home tonight (min. bid of $150)
-
I have an autographed 8x10 glossy of Tommy Morrison. It reads:
To Three Boned Jebediah,
Signed: Tommy "The Duke" Morrison
This piece is not fore sale, its priceless, you see? I just wanted everyone to know that I have it and its awesome. I would, however, consider trading it for a Tom Glavine rookie card.
-
What if I told you that some little canadian kid hand collected the entire 92-93 Fleer Ultra Basketball series 1 set (including the highly valuable Alonzo Mourning rookie card) and has it available for sale for a limited time at the ridiculous price of only like $250 (or more)?
-
What if I told you that this same Canadian kid has THREE of the John Smoltz 1989 Upper Deck rookie card. All pretty much mint condition as far as little kids ranking their own cards on condition. On top of all this, he is willing to part with them for the stupid low getting himself ripped off price of only about $100 each? You can also have all THREE for only $299.

framed pic of wagner field when the cats bested the horns of austin 45-42 signed by a bunch of cats players AND
Ron Prince

I have a signed picture of me with Michael Jordan from when I attended his basketball camp back in 1988. I have a mullet in this picture. PM me if you are interested. I will throw in my autograph for free. This is a really good deal because this will be my first autograph for a fan.
-
SD-
Keep your cards in your parents basement and then have it flood. I got like $500 from the insurance company for all of my early 90's FBall and baseball cards.
-
let's say this canadian kid has a baseball signed by george brett and also somewhat chewed by his brother in law's dog sandlot style. what would you pay for something like this?
a) $1k
b) $750
c) $500
d) $250+
(person who chooses the highest of the above takes this thing home TODAY)

I have a autographed business card that says:
To lopakman
KU sucks
Larry Bird.
This is in fact real becaue lopak's ex girlfriend ran into Larry Bird and his friend at a bar in LaGuardia. Imagine my surprise when I got a vm from her telling me she was drinking a beer with Larry Bird. Larry Bird's friend then tried to get lopak's girlfriend to join the mile high club. She said she didn't, but she might have.
-
what if you knew a little kid who attended a homestand of the colorado rockies in their inaugural season when they had to played at Mile High Stadium and they were playing the Atlanta Braves and this kid saw Deion Sanders hit an inside the park homerun and he kept the game schedule and he put it up for sale today on this blog. what would you say you would pay for this (just estimate to within the closest hundred)?
-
No way I'm buying anything from a Canadian.
-
Please tell me this canadian kid isn't Justin Beiber.
-
No way I'm buying anything from a Canadian.

Have a couple of those.

Huh, those are actually some really good balls. (No homo!) I have so much KSU stuff. Football programs back to the 1920s ... commemorative program from the last game in Ahearn signed by all the Ahearn era coaches and the whole 1987-88 Elite 8 team (Mitch Richmond signed twice!) ... game programs from the 1982 Independence Bowl and Snyder's first game ... an original KSU "Growl Towel" from the 1980s ... etc. All of it worth a whole lot, I'm sure.
And I too have a hand-collected 1988 Topps baseball set. I'll be willing to part with it for $1 less than steve dave is asking for his.

I guess I'll be that guy but why don't you just keep the ball? It belonged to your GPA and I assume he liked it and it meant something to him for him to hold onto it all these years. I'm not sure how old you are but I'm guessing some day $700 won't seem like much money to you and you'll wish you still had it.

If I know ben ji's granpa like I think I do he would want him to sell it and spend the money on a 3 day fishing and drinking bender.

YES! Was waiting for someone to try and guilt trip me.
Nobody knew he even had these, they were not displayed or anything and I'm guessing he had totally forgot he had them. Also I'm the biggest sports fan in the family and IDGAF about autographed stuff, just doesn't float my boat.
We found them in a desk drawer along with some cattle auction records from the 1940's. If you want to know how much a steer was worth in Randolph during this time period let me know.

Talked to "Hal" at ace sports over my lunch break and this is what he told me
1. 1980 Royals WS ball- $250 retail, $125 offer
2. Thurman Munson Yankee's Ball- $300 retail, $150 offer
3. 1972 Royals ball- $100 retail, $50 offer.
Prices looked a little low to me so I will probably try and sell at least the Munson Ball for 500+ on Ebay.
I also posted something about these balls on a royals BBS and someone might buy the 1980 ball...so I got that going for me.

My friends call me Benjamin Button and swear I'm aging backwards, so it's very hard to say. (One friend calls me Dorian Gray.)

Not trying to guilt you just throwing it out there. Mainly because there was a time in my life I would of sold just about anything for $700 without thinking twice. My perspective has changed now but if it didn't mean anything to him and doesn't to you then so be it.
Just don't sell them to that jackass at ACE sports. I think your approach of going around to fan boards is probably the best way to get a fair price from someone that will actually enjoy/cherish your balls.

this was a facebook post from my hometown
Need money to pay off my debts so I'm putting up my Pete Manning jersey up for bids! The good news is I only wore it twice and there are hardly any knots on the silky shoulder sleeves! It's a Superbowl XLIV Colts jersey and the size is 54! There are a few problems with it though! The pricetag was taken off so its not worth $50 anymore! Also the letters on the jersey look like they're wrinkled but theres no stains! Im hoping to get $20 or best offer!
Any takers? :Chirp:
-
I've got too many signed things to list that aren't really for sale, but money talks if you make the right offer. Everything is signed and certified and in mint condition.
Marcus Allen Jersey (x2)
Larry Bird Jersey
Michael Vick Jersey
Joe Montana Jersey
Sporting KC Jersey (whole team)
...and a crapton of signed baseballs. I can list those if anyone is interested.

Been emailing Chris at www.imperialsports.net, he's offering $600 for all the balls...best offer so far, will probably end up taking it.
