Mark it down negative nancys', wildcat faithful, goetards, and sqwaks, the cats are dine losing for the year.
Seriously, whose going to beat us? Ttech? OU? That's who I would guess. Not seeing it happening.
The conference appears to be coagulating as follows:
Top: UT, Baylor
Mid: Cats, OU, tbsU, TTech
Low: WVU, TCU, ISU
Canine Fecal Matter: Ku
I really like how the schedule lines up for us.
-
:bill:
-
i would go nuts if that happened, but it won't
-
i'd bet we lose to OU and TT. i think we're better than all the others.
-
Wut?
There is optimism......then there is retardedness :sdeek:
-
I got 7-5, but I could see it. Hardest schedule in the Big 12 so far.
-
i'd bet we lose to OU and TT. i think we're better than all the others.
You must have been tailgating during the ou and ttech games this week then. OU is incompetent on offense and ttech can't stop the run
-
i'm in FSD, where do i sign your blog guestbook?
-
I mean, we've basically given away these last two games, and you'll never convince me north Dakota had any business beating us.
We're ostensibly 3 plays from being 5-1
-
i'm in FSD, where do i sign your blog guestbook?
You just did, nephew!
-
We're ostensibly 3 plays from being 5-1
that's odd because i could've sworn we lost 4 games already, 2 of which were by more than 2 scores. so by my count that's at least 6 plays.
-
lol
-
Better chance of winning out than missing out on a bowl game in my imo :excited:
-

Doesn't have to be the last play of the game, boy genius.

Guys, it could happen.

Agreed, brotha.
Not sure what would be more enjoyable, tho.... Watching the Qhatz win six straight, or the excessive butthurt that would come outta squawkville.

:buh-bye:
-
We'll likely be favored in 4, maybe 5, or our last six.
WVU - win by a bunch
ISU - win by a bunch
TCU - win because they can't score
OU - win by some (maybe underdog)
KU - win by a million
TTech - win by some (underdog)

Why would one even eat cake? I eat only vegetables and fruit, and some lean proteins. Just sayin', a real fan enjoys the success of her team. To even suggest that enjoying the jealousy of one's rival is MORE enjoyable than enjoying the success of one's team is, on its face, a disgrace. Furthermore, your squawktard-on-a-k-state-blog comment is unwarranted and, frankly, uninspired. I don't come here to revel in your sorrow. I come here because I have found the general intelligence and overall BBS acumen to be exceptional - no doubt despite your dragging down of the mean.

You really aren't very good at this. Although you're generally relatively rational for a squawk, you swallowed the entirety of timmy and beems bait.

now i know that with 8 wins i will blow my rough ridin' lid with purple joy.

OU lost their best defensive player for the season, there's no way they beat us! :gocho:
-
We split drop one to either OU or TT, win the rest. 7-5
-
We split drop one to either OU or TT, win the rest. 7-5
This is the most realistic optimistic view, imo. I’m not sure how you could pick us to run the table when we have found way after way of losing ball games for the first half of the season. For the first half of the year when a play needed to be made, we did not make it – from a plethora of plays on NDSU’s drive, to the kicker not falling on UT’s fumble on the opening kickoff, to the variety of turnovers during the OSU game, to Evan’s personal foul penalty on Baylor’s opening drive……unlike 2011, this team finds ways to not make the play.
I mean, this team should probably go 4-2 the rest of the way. But it probably should have beaten NDSU. It probably should have beaten OSU. You could make the case it should have beaten Baylor. But it refused to.

Of course it is.
BUT THAT'S NOT GOING TO STOP ME FROM BEING #team8-4!

going to go ahead and start #team9-4 with our bowl win, any band wagon jumpers are welcome but we depart in one week

If our guy Daniel bosses it (like we know he will) I see no reason why we can't end up winning out and then winning our bowl game.

OK Tim. Keep your head in the sand. Baylor is better than each of those 3, and the bottom end of KU + SMU is much, much worse than the bottom end of UMass and ULL. But like I said, #30 is very close to #39 so as Baylor comes down to earth maybe the schedules will reverse. But certainly not now. :don'tcare:

We're going to finish 6-6.

Individually, each one of those games looks winnable. But all together? No, we will not win all six. I mean, just look at the math.
Odds of beating:
WVU 65%
ISU 75%
Tech 50%
TCU 65%
OU 50%
KU 80%
I created these percentages out of thin air. I assumed (and I don't necessarily think it's true) that we have at least a 50/50 chance in every game. I tried to be optimistic in the odds for the rest of the games.
Given these percentages, the likelihood that we win out is about 6%. SIX percent guys. It's not going to happen.
We can still win enough to make a bowl game. It's a long shot, but it is doable. The four games that I think are most winnable are WVU, ISU, TCU, KU. The odds we win all four is about 25%. Not a great chance, but it's possible.

I'm sorry but this guy has to be someone's sock. I mean, there is just no way anyone can be as dumb as this guy. He spent nearly an entire page arguing about a Big 12 record that is not up for interpretation, and now this? Please ban, TIA.
Also, Team9-4 or burn this mother down!

Pretty sure you are simply referring to the fact that all probabilities must add up to 1 (100%). Since we are talking about neither soccer nor the NFL, it is 100% likely that K-State will either win or lose each of its remaining games. Doesn't mean the odds of the Cats winning each individual game are 50/50.
Edit: if I am wrong please PM me ASAP so I can start buying lottery tickets right meow.

Thanks

If we finished 9-4 I'd have us picked for 2nd in the 2014 Big 12/top 15 nationally with an eye toward being NC contenders in '15.

5 of our 6 opponents haven't lost since we played them. And the 6th is UMass, who is absolute dog crap. Apparently after playing the Cats everyone else seems to be a step down in competition.

We've played a pretty decent schedule, but UMass is on pace to have the worst offense in at least that last 12 years, and its not even close.
They currently sit at .103 points per possession, the worst I can find in the last dozen years is Buffalo with .145 ppp.
Another advanced stat is yards per point. Michigan currently leads the country at 10.5 yards per point. UMass is at 40.8 yards per point. The next worst team nationally is La Monroe at 24.1.
-
yards per point is an interesting stat
fun to think about

FWIW...Last year we led the country at 10.4 and this year we are 35th at 13.0.
Obviously this has as much to do with field position and non-offensive TDs as it does the offense.
-
man its fun to think about how we were the best ever for a little while
-
i mean yards per point by itself does not tell you how good an offense is, but more how much does D/ST help the offense
-
Unlike some of you who thought the world was ending after losing to UT, K-State to me as been as solid as anyone on defense and as bipolar as anyone on offense. They played as undisciplined of football have seen in Stillwater. I have to see what TTU does this weekend, but it is not out of the realm of possibility that the Cats win the remaining games.
If OU wins handily then I agree K-State can go 8-4. But if TTU hands the Sooners their ass which I expect to happen, then the Big XII championship will be decided in Waco on November 16.

Isn't the Tech-Baylor game at a neutral site this year? :dunno:

I don't think tech is good enough to run train on anyone in the big12 other than KU. I think they are better than OU but not as good as Baylor or Texas.

The title will be decided on Dec. 7 in Waco. Doubtful that Texas has more than 1 B12 loss before then.

That sounds right for some reason. It just indicated Baylor will be the hometeam. That will make it even better. But again there is a lot of football left to be played.
