Would prefer giving my business to an EMAW bologna sandwich guy (OR GAL!).

no way

whats foot bologna?
-
Bart's 2 foot bologna sandwich emporium. <--- new name for football board

whats foot bologna?
NO. Regular bologna, but a lot of it. Enough for a 2-foot sandwich. Like, you know how you can get a foot-long sandwich at Subway? Well this would be twice as long as that. ALL bologna. I'm expecting a decent crowd tomorrow, so probably like 4 sandwiches (8 total feet of bologna sandwich).
-
You know what? eff it, let's go 6 sandwiches (12 feet).
-
Do you hate your guests? Why are you giving them bologna?

I have a great response to this, but it is buried in a different thread somewhere on the board.

basically just start talking about things that are true, and you will have your bologna. can't promise anything about the bread/toppings though.

I need 6 of these sandwiches (12 feet of bread, toppings, and bologna).

Bologna is for poors.

ok, hang with me here for a sec while i talk this thing through. if the standard size of bologna sandy is 1-foot, like you say it is, why do you have to go to 2-foot as the next size up? like, youre gonna need 6 sandies (12 feet total) so why wouldnt you get 4 3-foot sandies or possibly 2 6-footers? i mean eff. the guy cutting these sandwiches is probably the same guy making them. cut him a break. your guests arent gonna eat a whole 2-footer, so theyre gonna cut it. crap, while youre at it, how about a single 12-foot long bologna sandwich? and dont give me that whole "well tonya the bread is only 2 foot long" crap. i know youre rough ridin' lying. it has been done before.

basically, im not coming unless there is a sandwich at this party that i cant dunk a basketball over. hint: 9.25 feet is the minimum high, brah. i got ups.

2-foot bologna sandwiches are the standard as I understand it. Honestly, I've never catered in bologna sandwiches before.
Can somebody with a gpc login try to get some answers for me from over there? It was actually DJamer Wally who clued me in to the whole 2-foot bologna sandwich benchmark to begin with.

Don't forget that we're ideally looking for a "purple" sandwich shop.
-
trim, in light of the boiling water snafu, i think you should try your hand at making these and then live tweet it

We're talking COLD-cuts here.
-
Trim, i called my local HYVEE, and according to 'the book' they can cater 3 and 6 ft sandwiches. FYI not 'purple' FWIW. Also the on-hold music was The Dead Milkmen????

I may be able to shed some light on the two footlong/two foot long sandwich thing here...
At a popular chain of sandwich shops, a 12" sandwich is often referred to as a, "footlong." This whole snafu may have originated from "two footlong sandwiches" (two 12" subs) being mistaken for a two foot long sandwich (24" sub). A subtle difference no doubt. Either way that's a lot of balogna.
go cats!

Doesn't Dillons have their own bakery? Just put in a custom bologna order to go or whatever. Since Dillons is more TSC-based then "purple" I don't know if they'll meet that criteria tho.

UPDATE: T-Y to everyone for the tips. I've found an EMAW in Kechi that's up to the task. I'll be heading that way in the gE jeep tomorrow morning to pick up what, suffice to say, will be hella bologna. I'll probably have to fold the rear seat down. Poet Warrior's in for the PAK of his (or her!) life.
