being on the selection committee.
:RacistFlush:

Dax, what?
-
Dax, what?
Condoleeza Rice, black female republican, former secretary of state, Stanford grad and college football fan was picked for the playoff selection committee, SEC country is pissed.
That cover it Dax?
-
Shouldn't you put like, experts or something on the committee?
-

May as well just put the Dancing With the Stars and the Voice champions on the committee. God damn.
-
I think she'll do a fine job. Good choice.
-
Sometimes it's good for a team to go against the grain and add a critical mind that isn't bound by traditional dogmas and groupthink tendencies. The minute Rice was announced, I applauded the committee for thinking outside the box. Personally, I'm glad the choice of Rice steamed the SEC folks. BTW, she actually knows quite a bit about football, or zo I've heard.
-
Who else is on the committee?
-
She loves her football, so I'm not really upset about the decision. But still I would rather have someone closer to the game on the selection committee.
-
My team's K-State, so I don't even care.
Because we suck now.
Because Dinkmentia.
-
So far leaked....
Archie Manning, a former EVP in the NCAA, a former AFA superintendent, Mike Tranghese (former head of the BigEast who was there forever & was part of original BCS), and the ADs at WVU, Clemson, USC, Wisconsin (Alvarez), & Arky.
-

scratch that. I didn't realize there are already multiple former players and coaches on the committee. Will be good to have her for a different perspective.
-
I'm a fan of Condi Rice, but not as being part of a college football playoff selection committee.
-
I think a bunch of former players and current ADs are potentially a lot bigger problem than Condi Rice.
-

Well, who else are you going to put on this thing then? Everyone has a bias.

I don't know what the solution is, but I think a lot of former players are idiots and ADs have too much skin in the game. If you have them on, you have to have a balance from each conference. Condi is great because she came from a place where you have to weigh a lot of options, make a reasonable argument, and stay relatively unemotional about it. I think those are very very good qualities for this.
-
It's amazing how little I care about collegiate football when the ksu cats are no good.

Rice is a much smarter person than Archie Manning and the rest of those dweebs.

Great choice; getting someone who isn't biased is much better than someone who knows what a jail break screen is(she might for all i know). Lets face it; this isn't really rocket science. Of course,if it was rocket science she would also be a better pick than Archie. Just seems she is more likely to be objective, even if she doesn't know what a touchdown is

OMG I think I missed some!

She's exactly the kind of person you need for a committee like this. She's a big football follower, she's said her dream job would be NFL commish. She's not a fan girl, and been in situations where you have to make decision that go against emotions, and obviously she's sat down at the table many times with people of varying personalities and mindsets.

Computers don't. I would just go with a committee of 12 computer geeks who make their formulas completely transparent prior to the season.
-
My team's K-State, so I don't even care.

Because Dinkmentia.
Was this the unveiling of this term or have you been using it for a while now?
-
Condaleeza rice is great. A lady who will be as good of a selection committee member as she is a concert pianist. Knocked it out of the park with this hire.

That was the unveiling. I should've had a Wackiness in Wichita event for it.

I would prefer this, too. Do it for basketball, too.

So she us not biased even though she is a Stanford grad? Oh ok.
-
So she us not biased even though she is a Stanford grad? Oh ok.
she's not biased because she's a woman, silly.
-
What should we do about the situation in
Iran Alabama and North KoreaCarolina? Con-Do-LEEEEZZAA! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_lRgqpiqCc)
-
So she us not biased even though she is a Stanford grad? Oh ok.
Yea, no college grads should be on the commission.

Well regardless of how it was unveiled, it was well done.

I'm still expecting to use more of H2No today, but I'll sprinkle in some dinkmentia if the situation warrants.

The more I think about it, the more I'm sure I'm going to be using them too. I'll try to give credit when possible.

Yeah, just making sure the dumbasses in this thread bitching about bias were silenced

She's not a Stanford grad. However, she is a Notre Dame grad.

You're right, she's a professor at Stanford
-
did nobody else hear what pollack said on gameday yesterday? I'm surprised that isn't a bigger deal right now

It was all over social media yesterday. He issued a lame ass Twitter apology saying he didn't mean to say no women even though he said no women.

what an asshat, espn should have fined him. if she didnt know crap about football i could see the backlash but its pretty well documented that she is a huge (and intelligent) football fan. basically came out and said "im a sexist racist pos" doesnt surprise me coming from georgia
-
So she us not biased even though she is a Stanford grad? Oh ok.
Actually, she' not a Stanford grad. Just looked it up. University of Denver, graduate school Notre Dame and Denver. She has been a Professor at Stanford for quite a while, though.

I just saw a Condi Rice football commercial produced by the NFL on ESPN. Pretty ironic that the ad premiered this weekend.
-
Isn't the committee going to be like 20 people?
I am not surprised by the reaction, not surprised, but still a little taken aback.
I've heard in several interviews talking about football and her knowledge extends beyond a stereotypical football mom.
They'll be lots of "football guys" on the committee, you need people like her on it IMO.

Chances are that she'll know more about football than those football guys. I bet if Condi Rice was Joey Harrington instead dumbass David Pollack wouldn't have a problem.
Football players are far and away the most narrow minded, dumbest athletes. Probably not their fault entirely though.
-

The plan they approved was 12 to 18. Director Bill Hancock has said multiple times he'd like it closer to 12 than 18.

in what way isn't it their fault? even baseball players are smarter and better people and half of them never went to college and take personality-altering chemicals.

Yeah, is there any way that could have been planned? Very weird.

hmmm, i think there are a lot of younger fball players comporting themselves as idiots that can't use that excuse as cover.

Ty Willingham, Dr. Tom
