Title: Can we just throw all of Bill's dementia quotes into this thread?
Post by: Rage Against the McKee on September 24, 2013, 03:27:58 PM
"They played the same scheme all the way through," Snyder said. "When Daniel went into the ballgame, he ran the ball fine. It's not as if they lined up to take it away. I don't know what he had, but he had a decent night rushing."

Maybe Miller and Hayes have dementia and Snyder is just repeating what he was told by his coordinators  :dunno:

Maybe. Regardless, it's Snyder's job to fire them if they do and it's Snyder who sounds like an idiot after the game.

DR: "Sharon, can you tell what symptoms you have noticed?"
Sharon: "Just type in goEMAW.com on your computer, they have a thread on their blog about it. I don't think they have missed any."

Valid points.

Maybe we could act like grown ups and quit with the dementia stuff, because its not really accurate or funny.

It's not funny, but it is accurate. LHC Bill Snyder has been coaching way too long to not realize that Texas was doing things different defensively when Sams was in the game. He just forgot about it, which explains the lack of any passing plays being called and his post-game comments.

Yeah he coached really poorly in that game. That's not dementia. Grow up.

He couldn't describe what happened in the game, though. This is the second time in two weeks that this has happened.

"We just didn't throw the ball with him, which is what we need to do," Snyder said. "We did run the ball with Jake a little bit. Both have the capacity to do either side. Both of them deserve to play; both of them are good players. We made a lot of mistakes at that position tonight."

I thought that Bill wore that headset and carried that condensed play chart so that he could talk to his offensive coordinator about the plays being called.  Ya know, like if Bill's not happy with how the play calling has been going, can't he be like, "Del, let's call in a pass play for ol' # 4" or "Hey, Del, are you seeing the same Defense upstairs that I'm seeing down here?  Maybe we should pass it."

I thought that's why he was wearing that headset.  To communicate with other coaches on our team.

Seriously? The Sams to Gronk thing still? It was an honest mistake.

The great ones don't forget to call pass plays for the QB.

He blew it. No argument. I've never been in the "Snyder is above criticism" camp.

I'll try and go back to find the one where he defended the 2010 D by saying they held Mizzou to their 2nd lowest point total of the season when it was really their 3rd or 4th highest.

The coaching has been "blown" in every game in '13.  That's the thing.  That's the concern.  We're not talking about a few missed play calls here or there.  Talking about an entire season of coaching futility.  what the eff is going on here?  Either he's a crap coach, he's handed over the reigns to his assistants and checked out of the day to day operations, or he's suffering from early onset of dimentia.

I know it ain't option #1.

Seriously? The Sams to Gronk thing still? It was an honest mistake.

Separate from the dementia stuff, it was more than an honest mistake. He didn't just say "Daniel" in the place of "Jake." He lectured Wyatt and everyone watching about how Daniel is an underrated passer, then a week later he once again doesn't allow him to throw a pass when anyone with eyes knows it would have loosened up the defense.

Something is going on and there is a wide gulf between dementia and a honest mistake.

I could see that. Snyder is a weird guy.

i seriously think he has dementia, and that will get worse with time.  he is too rough ridin' old to be a head football coach.

He's coaching just like he did in 2010.

We had much better game plans as a whole in 2010.

Had a dream last night that a Silver Alert etc was issued for Bill when he went missing on travel day before the OSU game.  Was found in Chapman.

It can be funny.  I've already scripted 3 minutes of material for the OBz roast at FattyFest 2014.
