Mods, move this to the Pit.

I know what you mean. Whenever I try to sit my grandkids down and find some wholesome programming to watch, I just get frustrated. TV is full of curse words and underwear. Can't even turn on a good animal killing animal show on THE ANIMAL PLANET CHANNEL like you used to be able to. Just a bunch of floosies and violence.
I have been encouraging my kids to have their kids do a lot more reading(bible of course) so that they aren't as involved in this MTV culture on TEEN MOM!!! steroids. Good wholesome Christians are running out of entertainment options.

I saw a special on Norse culture the other day on H2 that was pretty informative :dunno:
-
What's worse, I take to the interweb to try to teach my kids about baseball and all I find are things like this.

Some good history stuff on the Military Channel.
D-Day 3D
I re-watched the show about the siege at Khe San last night, and also "Commanders on the Brink" or something like that. Last night it was good because it was about Vietnam after Nixon got elected.

sometimes i get hammered and watch victory at sea episodes on youtube.
-
sometimes, my wife of 35 years and I like to sit back and watch a good classic American moving picture. We turn to the American Movie Classics channel hoping to see Bogart, and instead we see meth dealers and zombies. WHAT IS THIS

My high school - early college years history was the Hitler channel, somewhere around 2007-2008 it started becoming the alien channel.

H2 is where it's at.
Although History does produce 1 show a year that is pretty fantastic. It was Vikings last year.

The Dan Carlin podcast series on the Mongol Empire is fantastic. It's on itunes and also here:

I highly recommend Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and Common Sense podcasts.

darn it all to heck!

I love the historical drama stuff like Vikings, but the amount of conspiracy theory crap and aliens crap has just killed my viewership. Remember when they had all the old Civil War shows? I mean who doesn't love awkward historians with epic facial hair talking about the Army of the Cumberland.

I prefer books
