Heard from a friend that was there that the following happened:
First, its almost a party atmosphere out in Phoenix during those days. These coaches aren't the sworn enemies they sometimes make it seem. Gundy and Stoops are drinking together and slapping ass, getting pretty lit up apparently. Apparently out of the corner of the room, a guy that is visibly struggling to walk and wheezing walks in. My friend said nobody even knew who it was, welcome new KU coach Chaz Weis. Apparently, several of the conversations that night centered around how bad he looked and how much of an ass he was.
Here's the good part. Apparently, there was a small line at the bar of 5-6 people waiting on drinks (think this social gathering included head coaches of many sports and AD's etc.). Anyway, LHCBS walks in to the party and it was like the seas parted. All the coaches waiting in line for drinks moved aside and let Snyder go get his usual (single glass of wine as I understand it). Snyder thanked them for their kindness, shook a few hands and headed out with his glass of wine (as we know he probably had to go back to his room and study the fake punt tendencies of his opponents in 3rd quarter situations when trailing by 10 points or more when its windy and over 75 degrees during games started after 3:00 PM CST)
My friend said it was one of the most incredible things he's seen. To see all these other famous coaches act like stargazing kids was pretty telling. The guy has mad respect of his peers in the league.

cool story, thanks for posting

Was Mack Brown trashed?

Yes.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Like I said, it was a sight to see.
-
White or red? I could see LHCBS enjoying a nice chardonnay.

Snow Creek Berry Boone's Farm. No need taking advantage of other's charity.

How will Sean be viewed by the other coaches in a few years when he gets blasted after one Michelob Extra?

interesting, if true.
Also, Sean is a well known booze hound. Dude can drink almost as well as he could punt.
-
Great story, is your friend a coach? Seems like that would be a tough ticket
-
Watching Coach Bill order a glass of wine was one of the most amazing things he's ever seen and I'm glad this story could really tell everyone what a mad stud this man is.

I hear Snyder gets pretty generous with the butter pats after his second glass. Dudes quite the party animal, on occasion.

I can't wait for the Old Ballz stories thread in 5 years! :excited:

Tuck embellishments are prob the absolute best for tucks, I bet

Jesus Lighten Up, Douche.
-
Seas parted for Bill MOSES Snyder.
-
The only thing I really want to know is what Hollywood's drink of choice is.

the fact that his friend thinks he saw this is amazing to me.

The only thing I really want to know is what Hollywood's drink of choice is.
That hadn't crossed my mind but now it's going to haunt me until I know.

Well that is the elitest of elite drinks (second to BL 'nums).

I bet it's Jack Daniels shots when he wants to get wild, Woodford Reserve on rocks when he wants to enjoy himself, and a vodka tonic for the lady.
-
Woodford is a good guess, but I suspect Hollywood drinks his bourbon neat. I'll ask my friend.
-
Reminds me of the story that BITB told last year about LHCBS and Stoops getting together on Toby Keith's bus at Country Stampede. BITB said he asked the party present on the bus (not ID'd) what Stoops called LHCBS, it was "Coach". LHCBS called Stoops "Bobby".
-
People probably didn't want to talk to him. the whole night was like the pinkle handshake gif.

This is one of those threads that someone just copied from gpc and then started here like it was their own isn't it?

Bourbon, neat, is an excellent guess.

1) All of us have a little tuck in us.
2) Those times we acknowledge our inner-tuck we really enjoy stories like this, amount of truthfulness is unimportant.
3) This is okay.
-

I'd like to think given the choice, Hollywood would go with a Blanton's Single Barrel.

Love Blanton's

Janssen via Lynn Dickey!
Dickey remembers being a guest at a team meeting held by coach LHC Bill Snyder.
“There were 100 guys in the room just talking and goofing around, but when Bill walked in the room they were on the edge of their chairs and you could have heard a pin drop. Not one player said a word,” said Dickey. “To me, that showed tremendous respect for the man.”

You know what is going to be really great? After this weekend, Wacky is going to get on this blog and completely go off on how much a full on tuck dobber is. Gameday dobber can be pretty tucky by elite gE standards.
-
I'm pretty well known for being full on tuck on Gameday!
