Title: Security Deposit
Post by: WillieWatanabe on August 26, 2013, 06:03:09 PM
MHK reality company is currently trying to eff over a very pissed off friend of mine over some ridiculous claims at his former residence. What's the success rate of disputing said claims if noted on a check in sheet? tia

MHK judge that handles these cases ALWAYS favors the tenant.

Yeah, those guys suck. If you have the time to deal with it, you can take them to small claims court and I'm sure you would win if you noted the damage on your sheet when you moved in.

So if a homeowner was thinking of using Alliance as their prop management, would that turn many renters off from the property?  For a friend.

APM will pocket the deposits they charge tenants to fix crap and then not fix anything, though. Your friend's property will not really get maintained at all with them.

Well, Good news for my friend. They reviewed the disputed claims, and will dish out an additional $900.  It was an "oversight".

I thought about using Alliance, then just decided to do it myself.  It is much easier than I expected, and property managers charge a lot of money.  Just read a book and you will learn all the important stuff.
