Good employers are good at finding employees who know exactly what they both want out of the job and need what said employee brings to the table.

Guise what about Blackberry's? Or is it Blackberries? Anyway, what if your employer makes you carry one of those, and your peers in other companies openly mock you and your so-called "innovative" company? Man, I could go either way on this one.

what about when your boss doesn't give you the same perks as the guy you took over for ie, cell phone, country club membership? really steamed me

Assert your dominance by placing your head over the back of your boss' neck. Breathe in deeply and quickly. Move slowly and deliberately and mess up your hair so it sticks straight up. If he does not yield bite off his ear.

yes puni, see post before, it was actually quite comical because it was a reference to needing to be more of a face in the community, (been here 5 months at the time), beforehand I had asked CEO's son what would be a good organization to join to get this done, he said don't join the young pros or rotary, join the country club and go to men's night. so during my yearly (5 month) review I brought it up and that is when he said that "some people have things that others don't" line.
ps, I know the real world is not fair, etc. but I will never forget that line...

Yeah, your boss is a knob. He should have said "that kid got it because his dad is the CEO"

to further assure fellow ge elite's of boss' knob status, and because I like to type on here, 3 months later I informed him of Angel leaving, "good, he mumped up our tournament run anyways"

What about acquisitions? Any of you guys been through an acquisition where your firm was the one being purchased? Seems like that's a good time give things a looksie.

Been on the acquiring side a few times. Agree it's a good time to look around. In my experience and generally speaking administrative services (accounting/finance, payroll, IT) eventually get wiped out and consolidated for sure.

work/home balance for what they are paying you.

work/home balance for what they are paying you.
How is that balance in the rap game? Do you find it eating into your home life often? Like your rap boss is constantly asking you to stay after hours or work weekends to finish up the big new rap the company is hanging all of its hopes on, but you damn well know that if it succeeds that sonofabitch is going to take all the credit to his bosses and you'll still be stuck at entry level cubicle rapping while he gets the bonuses and the sweet rough ridin' office.

Those are really good points by Bread regarding the rap game and the working conditions. Rap bosses are probably horrible.
Somewhat unrelated, but still on the topic of bosses (which really are one the biggest reasons to look or not look for a new job), I saw a bumper sticker on a car the other day that said "My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter." I was like "Wow, you do not run into many Jews in the industrial trade jobs." But, then I was like "Wow, the Jews have so much money they are now buying bricks and mortar businesses, Glen Beck is onto something." Lately, I have have had a ton of work done on my house, and most of the guys were Mexican. There was one white guy, but he did not look Jewish. But, who am I kidding? He could have totally been Jewish and I didn't even know.

PM me if there is ever a BOGO sale on money.

Best reason, because you're starting your own business. You can make like 25% less money and still have the same lifestyle due to taxes. Of course if you're a KSU Alum you'll make a lot more than at your put job that only pays six figures.
Do your own thing, make your boss (you) lease you a car, pay for gas, provide lunch everyday, buy season tickets to cats games for "business development", and you better ask for that couch and TV in your office, even though your boss is a hard ass. All of it paid before taxes, unlike your pud job that takes out taxes first, and you spend whatever is left over.
