Title: New Gmail
Post by: michigancat on July 29, 2013, 01:18:49 PM
Seems fine to me. I don't really like sorting (prefer to index/search) but the way it sorts seems to work. I'll give the change 3 raccoons out of 5.

can't you choose the number of folders?  so if you liked one universal folder, you can still choose that, if i understood the intro popup box that i didn't read correctly.

You can go into settings and revert it back to how it used to work I believe.  I think the options are the current 3 folder setup or 1 combined inbox.  You can't do more or less than the 3 folders from what I've tinkered around with.

You can also setup the notifications so that you get a new email notification when you receive a "social" or "promotional" email instead of the default where you only get it on the primary inbox.

Yeah, you can basically turn all of the tabs (except the primary) off and on.

But is there a way to change how it sorts from a particular sender? For instance from a specific email it sends everything into the Updates folder and I don't want them to go there.

i think you just click on the offending email and tell it to move to the folder where you want it, and from then on all emails from that sender will go there.

I like it, because I check my email less often. This is good, but seems like an odd thing for google to do. You'd think they'd want people to visit more often.

Like it, got my "primary" inbox to 0 unread. Have 955 messages in "promotions" that I don't read.

GOOD JOB GMAIL>>>>>

I basically sorted my email to do all of this itself a couple of months ago.  Was a big rough ridin' waste of time, I guess

Love the Promotions folder. Basically takes all of my junk mail and puts it in one place where I can ignore it. Boss move by Google.

I meant all the junk mail I'm too lazy to individually sort into the Junk Mail folder. :don'tcare:

I had unsubscribed from most of my "junk mail". But Junk Mail/promotions are completely different from spam. sorting promotions that you signed up to receive is new.

Do you ever mush the San Francisco types that come up to you wearing glass? If so, do you end up breaking their glass and end up getting sued and things?
