Title: Contact Rules
Post by: That_Guy on July 23, 2013, 03:51:47 PM
Is anyone else tired of these strict rules always updating? Now they're saying Clowney's hit would have cost him a game.

I know safety is immense in football anymore, but still. When players sign up to play the game, they know there's a chance of serious injury. It's a contact sport. Big hits are going to happen. Players shouldn't be punished for making a big play or hit necessarily. I'm just waiting for the day when they change the rules to two-hand touch or full on flag football. IT'S FOOTBALL DAMNIT!

If it helps KSU, I'm in favor of it. Will this rule help us win games?

Nope. The only thing it'll help is the making of the USA into pinko-commie socialists. Thanks Obama.

I think its just another subjectively enforced rule that can completely change the outcome of a game that we're giving to the refs, just another "excessive celebration" for everyone to get pissed about.   We're turning the game in to basketball you guys!

I think it's awesome, it's like red cards in soccer. Totally subjective, changes the game, sometimes fucks you over, but sometimes makes you get an advantage.

More subjectivity/judgment calls for officials in any sport is just awful.  Penalize a guy for headhunting or hitting late, otherwise let them play.

What's the new rule? I have been too busy :kstategrad: lately to pay attention to much.

When I played we didn't even drink water at practice.

When I played, those pinko commies told coach that he had to give us water, so he made us drink water until we puked, then run some stairs until we passed out from the heat. It was great. Kids these days just don't know what real football even is.

Similar case of the old man telling me they used to make the team run until someone threw up. They'd cheat the system and load up on water before the running took place.

When I was playing coach would tell us to spear the other guys with our helmet because that was the hardest part of our pads. From what I remember, everybody had a lot of fun laying people out with their helmet and nobody got hurt except for Rob Grant, who got whiplash. Coach called him a pussy and told him to get off his field. And he did. He was back in practice 2 weeks later and coach told him that a better man would have only been out for one week. Coach was right again.

Back in my day, we didn't have this sissy 7 on 7 or X's and O's crap. We went out and hit the crap out of each other for three hours, and if coach didn't think we hit the crap out of each other hard enough, we ran until a player puked. Then coach called that kid a rough ridin' pussy and kicked him off the team. We started the season with 75 players and ended it with 20. But we won the 1973 Kansas 3A state championship so that's all that matters. Kids these days wouldn't be able to survive one day of our practices. 'Merica.

When I was ruling the gridiron, we ran a drill that we called "Duck Hunt" Coach would lob up a wobbly pass to a receiver coming across the middle. The receiver would jump up to make the catch, and it was our job to knock his block off so hard that he wouldn't come down with it. I always jumped up and smashed my helmet right into the receiver's helmet to ring his bell just like coach said. As he was lying on the ground in pain, I got in his face and said "Ding Dong, bitch".

 :frown:

I just realized that if my son ever says "ding dong, bitch" in practice, those liberal pinkos would probably kick him off the team. Coach always used to kick players off the team for being pussies and now you get kicked off for not being a pussy. What a country we live in.
