Post by: bones129 on June 26, 2013, 12:38:48 AM
LOL. The mighty Yankees have finally figured it out.

And now this. Are the Yanks trying to screw A-Rod, or is A-Rod trying to screw the Yanks?

Or do they just deserve each other?

I have now decided, due to the lack of response to this A-Rod thread, which caused me to further reflect upon A-Rod, that no one cares about this guy, and justifiably so. He was good, but despicable at the same time. He dishonors the game.

Kudos for consistency on time of night that you like to post about A-Rod.

I've never hated A-Rod. I kinda feel bad for him, which is weird.

Baseball was just more fun when A-Rod was a Mariner. I mean, A-Rod, Griffey Jr, and Randy Johnson on the same team? Yes, please.

Not to mention Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez, Omar Vizquel, Tino Martinez...I mean those early 90's teams had an amazingly talented core for them not to have won anything

The Mariners just couldn't keep the band together long enough. Small market teams just have ridiculously small windows.

Various media reports say A-Rod may be facing a 100 or 150 game suspension. Some say MLB wants a lifetime ban. What say you? Personally, I'm done with him.

A lifetime ban seems very excessive.

He's more deserving of a lifetime ban than Pete Rose is

Honestly other than the remaining money on his contract, I don't think he would give a crap if they gave him a lifetime ban.  He is about to turn 38 and made over 300 million in salary alone in his career.

He did it, lied about it, got caught, did it again.  Other than the MLB saying they "could" ban people for life, they are too late for it to really mean anything.

A-Rod is not still playing baseball because he cares about the money. He is set for life. Pete Rose seems to still care deeply about his lifetime ban. Love him or hate him, A-Rod belongs in the HOF and I see no reason why he should not be eligible for coaching positions in the future.

Yep, dude was willing  to take less money to play for Boston and the players' union said no, denied. I have come across Boston fans that don't even know this for some reason.

Probably wouldn't have mattered Re: steroids but I think he'd have a lot more fans if that deal had gone through.

A-Rod is cooked. Selig won't rest until he rids MLB of him.

211 games, suspended through the end of the 2014 season.

Have we seen the last of A-Rod? Is there any chance he manages to preserve his body with HGH during his suspension and then he reemerges as a Kansas City Royal in 2015?

Good or bad, depending on your perspective, this is what A-Rod has brought to baseball.

How the eff Dempster didn't get tossed is beyond me. If I was A-Rod, after I crushed that HR I would have walked the bases and stared Dempster down the whole way

Dempster should have just thrown at A-Rod again. No home run that way.

Yeah. And if he complains, the ump should just pull a ball out of his pocket and throw it at him, too.

I have absolutely no love for A-Roid or the Yankees, but it was bullshit Dempster wasn't tossed after hitting him.  I agree with whoever said that he should have just walked the bases and stared down Dempster after that homer.

Unless it's done as retaliation for one of your guys getting beaned, intentionally hitting a batter is a bush league move.  10x more for AL pitchers since they don't have to put their ass on the line.

If I were an NL pitcher I would bean enough batters to get my on base percentage around .500
