i mean, wtf oscar? come on dude, you have king's blood in your veins, act like it.
:curse:
-
someone needs to have a red wedding at the BTF
-
Have Currie give him a vote of confidence and you'll be just fine. Probably the best run in program history.
-
yeah, we are kinda mumped
-
We haven't been this mumped in quite sometime.
-
why are we mumped, pissclams?
-
it seems like it was just yesterday that 'clams was talking about honed gun blades and machined pipelines. man those were the days.
-
Fincher? More like Sphincter
-
nicely done Pett, but let's face facts here, you're no PIPE and that's okay
-
thank god we are a football school cause we are so, so deeply mumped in bball.
-
why are we mumped, pissclams?
HAVE YOU NOT BEEN PAYING ATTN: ?
-
if we aren't mumped then good. ok? but man, i just got a bad feeling.
-
oscar has effectively turned this program into a rebuilding project
-
I for one am looking forward to when Gip and DJamer get into foul trouble and Shane gets his shot at the "stretch" 5.
-
shane can't play the five! shane is mumped!
-
shane can't play the five! shane is mumped!
screw torches, we need massive blow torches for this project.
-
oscar has effectively turned this program into a rebuilding project
Any coach that doesn't have a 5 yr plan is one that I don't want at KSU.
-
Shane Southwell: From PG to C all in one career. It'll be like little league where the best player can play every position.
-
Shane Southwell: From PG to C all in one career. It'll be like little league where the best player can play every position.
Pretty sure Kim did this at Mizz. So it makes sense that Shane will do this with us since Kim is going to replace ABIII and Brad MotherFucking Corn on staff as an Assit Coach Super Operator.
-
tell kim there are a few jobs open at ksu mbb and maybe oscar will hire him and we will be all emaw and
-
eff MAN, oscar LIKES chicken nuggets!
-
Kim's Piston's salary was only 470k this year. It's not like we haven't spent that kind of money on an assistant coach in the past.
-
HOLY crap KIM ENGLISH PLAYS FOR THE PISTONS, WE ARE mumped
-
I am more concerned about the loss of Brad Korn as DOBO(assuming Kim doesn't sign up). Who do we have that can get this all figured out?
-
'clams is tearing this board apart
-
Guys......Shane playing the "5" isn't so bad............
All he has to do is grow his fro out 3-4" and then he will be listed at 6'9 or 6'10"........
Haven't you guys seen Chevy Chase in the movie Fletch were he plays for the Lakers?????
Now, that doesn't help his weight issue......what is he, 150lbs or so? I'll have to think about this one.....
-
hey PIPE did you see where I told Pett he was no you? oh man, burned him right up on that one.
-
hey PIPE did you see where I told Pett he was no you? oh man, burned him right up on that one.

I am so so sorry you have to go through this. This proud school deserves better, dont worry guys, there's light at the end of the oscar Weber derailment tunnel.

It's another train
-
did further misfortune befall the cats or is this a general acknowledgement of the our inevitable implosion?
-
1. Neville Fincher will not be attending K-State due to grades.
2. Alvin Brooks III is being rumored to be heading for SMU because Larry Brown is better.
I think some of us are not surprised by the fact that this seems to be going to crap but we are surprised at how fast it seems to be going to crap. Perhaps #BurnitDown is having an effect. I am somewhat hopeful we can get a new coach after year 3.
I would really rather be wrong and that Foster and Westicles are NBA Superstars and my face turns red like this .
-
atleast we got that trophy! that was a lot of fun!
-
atleast we got that trophy! that was a lot of fun!
Good point, scott. Will be awhile before we even sniff another.
-
Hey 'clams,
walk the plank

-
Oh snap, Clams!
-
It's the death from a 1,000 cuts scenario I feared from the beginning, although I, too, am stunned by how fast the slices are coming.
Just how long can Weber suck before the "he won a league championship, which is something Frank could never do" Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) tuck crowd gets on board with those of use with the wisdom to see this from the start? I just have this premonition Weber is going to play to the nastiest of his supporters, even while completely incapable of moving the program forward and accepting his own ineptness and resigning.
It's going to tear the fanbase apart before we all arrive at the inevitable messy conclusion. Nice job Curry.
-
Funny you should say that.
It's the death from a 1,000 cuts scenario I feared

clams, time of death?

hey PIPE did you see where I told Pett he was no you? oh man, burned him right up on that one.
I saw that......
-
SO mumped!!!

Just when you thought faux meltdowns were passé...

shut up, weber hater.

what happened

I wondered about using "meta meltdown" instead of faux meltdown. Guess that was warranted.
-
I wondered about using "meta meltdown" instead of faux meltdown.
death by a thousand meltdowns.
-
I'm proud to be a Weber hater (I really don't hate him; I just hate that he's our coach).
-
I see a one win conference season this year! TCU is going to shove it up our rears! Weber completely effed the crap out of us on this one! #BurnItDown
Heres to first to worst... :drink:

I don't understand. I was referencing another feather in the Cat Cap (record profits). Your usage of "tho" suggests a contraposition between Titletown and profits.

_FAN, fire up the printing press. Currie's silhouette on the front, Spracne's quote on the back.
-
"Why use a new photo when a banner is available."
Currie wins again.
-
my hope is that the banner isn't actually part of the poster and that it's just a sticker that was printed out a week after art said he was leaving. like if you peel the sticker off really carefully then you see art.

maybe it could be a collectable series of like 1-5 with people that should still be here but aren't and then you try to collect all five. :dunno:

It's just a picture.

Man, I need to stay off these boards today.....my negativity is at an all time high today.....
Who, seriously, gets excited for basketball when looking at that poster... :sdeek:
Remember all those games last year....when we were in the middle of a big 12 championship.....and we had 2 marquee names in McGruder and Rodriguez......and we had all of those empty seats in the OOD???????
It's going to be crickets this year.....crickets I tell ya :ohno:

So our really really good point guard isn't going to be able to play throughout all of the OCC and will be playing his first collegiate minutes ever at the start of big 12 play? See thread title :dubious:
-
I don't think that's the case. Thomas should be able to play as soon as the first semester's over, or sometime in mid-December. Remember Walker?

If Nino and/or DJamer don't improve enough to play more than 10-15 minutes it's gonna be a long season...

[
Walker and most mid year guys are transfers that are in good academic standing. This is not the situation Thomas is in and I can't recall a similar mid year "prop 48" player, I am prepared for him to not play until the 2nd semester begins. This past Spring semester began on 1/22, the day of our 5th conference game.

1. Jevon 30 mins, Will 5 mins, Nigel 5 mins
2. Will 20 mins, Omari 10 mins, Nigel 10 mins
3. Foster 25 mins, Southwell 10 mins, Omari 5 mins
4. Southwell 20 mins, Niño 15 mins, Wesley 5 mins
5. Gipson 30 mins, DJamer 10 mins
Jevon is really really good, foster has also been far better than projected. Westicles seems to be solid, but is behind Shane. Nigel hasn't got to play yet due to injury.
So our really really good point guard isn't going to be able to play throughout all of the OCC and will be playing his first collegiate minutes ever at the start of big 12 play? See thread title :dubious:
So you're saying that our 3 star freshman point guard, with no real offers, is going to be able to adjust to the college game as quick as a player that at the time was considered a lottery pick and one of the best players in the country? :eye:
Jevon's will have been on campus for a year and you need to understand Jevon is a lot better than a no offer 3 star. Their is a good chance Jevon is the best player on the team next year, it is either him or Shane.

jfc. so you think will spradling is going to play less minutes this year than he did last year and his sophomore year? my god son. :flush:
Do you think he can play more? Will's body can't handle playing 30 mins a game.
he played 31 as a sophomore so you tell me.
And was complete crap the second half of the season.
so will sucked because he played 31 minutes a game instead of 25? seems like a pretty fine line you are drawing in the imaginary basketball court sand. 25 minutes a game? great. 31? horrible. what if they play him 29? 28.7? i mean honestly i'd just play him 10 if those ten are a lebron 10. thoughts? or would that be not enough? like he needs to play exactly 24.7 a game to be maximum will spradling? like if he's playing in a game and he's already played 24.7 minutes in that game, should weber call a timeout and pull him?

If your over exert a player their quality of play will deteriorate. Right?
I am just saying it was obvious at the end of the last 2 years Will has crossed that line. Just look at how he closed out each season. Because of this I doubt Weber will use Will at the same rate.

:bill:
I don't think that's the case. Thomas should be able to play as soon as the first semester's over, or sometime in mid-December. Remember Walker?
Updated Depth Chart with minutes
The lineup is really starting to clear up for me.
PG Will Spradling 25 Minutes Nigel Johnson 15 minutes and Thomas may take Nigel's minutes in the 2nd semester and Shane may see action here as well per oscar Weber.
SG Omari Lawrence 30 minutes Will Spradling 10 minutes Shane Southwell in reserve
SG Foster 25 Minutes Shane Southwell 15 minutes
SF Shane Southwell 20 minutes Williams 15 Minutes Westicles 5Minutes
PF Gipson 25 minutes DJamer 15 Minutes Shane in Reserve
By minutes it would look like
Will Spradling 35 Minutes
Shane Southwell 35 Minutes
Omari Lawrence 30 Minutes
Marcus Foster 25 Minutes
Thomas Gipson 25 Minutes
Nigel/Thomas 15 Minutes
DJamer 15 Minutes
Nino Williams 15 Minutes
Westicles 5 Minutes
It will be closer to this
1. Jevon 30 mins, Will 5 mins, Nigel 5 mins
2. Will 20 mins, Omari 10 mins, Nigel 10 mins

i just look at every ksu year for will and can't discern much of a different from the first half of the year to the second half aside from the caliber of teams and players that he was playing against. but if you want to delude yourself into thinking that it was because he played 28 minutes a game instead of 25 then by all means. just don't do it here, dumbass.

no rough ridin' crap, jackass? i mean, will looks worse in feb and march than in november and december? duh rough ridin' duh? i mean, will's numbers are worse in months that he has to play ku, osu and baylor multiple times as opposed to the months where he plays north dakota, lamar and uc upton? i mean this is brain explosion stuff you're breaking. if only will would've played 20 minutes against umkc last year instead of 38. we probably would've been elite 8 or better.

Big 12 plays starts in January and he has performed better in January and early Febuary. It would also not be the first time a coach restricteds a players minutes in effort to keep the player fresher.

There is a lot to talk about here.
1. I think there is some truth to the fact that non 1st or 2nd team Big 12 players probably shouldn't play more than 30 minutes a game. Will, Omari and Gipson probably shouldn't be playing over 30 but in many games (for Will probably most) they will probably be called upon to do that because of a lack of depth, injury, grades, foul trouble etc. You can probably get more energy and efficient production from these guys by getting them to play harder for shorter periods. In some games I thought oscar did a good job with this but then I watched the LaSalle game and now I am uncertain about what the hell oscar is thinking and whether he just accidentally wore some teams out like the first OSU game, TCU, and Texas games.
2. Generally freshman are not good players, particularly 3 star freshman. Angel's freshman year is a pretty typical example of a great college player messing up a lot and rapidly getting better but still with significant flaws. If you look at Chester Frazier's first years at Illinois it wasn't too impressive but he did grow into a really good college player.
Frazier
shot 20.8% from the field in 2006 :flush:
35% in 2007 :)
33% in 08 and :)
44% in 09.
If we only get 20.8% shooting from the point guard position, this will not be fun.

Was obvs that it was a conditioning and over exertion issue. Maybe if will was started under a decent trainer or strength coach he wouldn't hit that physical wall. Sounds like frank and greenawalt caused all this in not making will get in better shape.
-
i think the point is to not use proactive from mid febuary to late march, apparently it causes muscle tremors
-
I get as frustrated with Will's inconsistency as the next guy, but he also didn't practice the last month of the season due to a nagging injury. Probably more of a case of rust than overuse. Although the Proactive theory could have legs to it...

This is what Bruceketball has become, arguing about whether or not Will Spradling is worse in February or January and if he'll get 25 or 35 minutes a game

Guys, that is like two or three yrs in a row that we have heard will's lacking performance is due to a severe nagging injury that he courageously fought through.
Sounds like a sustainability problem. We are in KS.....
Again, this goes back to the extremely lacking conditioning that Will was brought up with for the first 2/3rds of his career.

Still working my way into game shape here... I'm sure your first few posts were pure gold.
Had to go back to check. Yep, my first two posts were pretty good, probably my best ones ever. It's been down hill since then.
I don't like that we have any white players on the team that aren't walk ons.
I'm thinking next year we pull Spradlings scholarship and give it to someone with talent. Spradling walks on, problem solved.
Thanks for using your first post to quote me.
I thought I'd start off small and work my way up.
Yeah I just got owned. Thats the problem with lurkers, they can watch posting habits anonymously and come out of the gates swinging.
I will remember this day! :shakesfist:

Wow...Your hate for Will runs deep. I should've done a better job of lurking before I logged on.

honestly I don't see Kstate finishing top 5 next year...it'll be KU at the top followed by everyone else.
osu is going to smoke ku, fool.
Oh man. Those are going to be good games.
I can't wait to see how worked up Self and Ford get. They both kinda get that red faced constipated look. Ford is going to stomp has ass off.
Seriously though, OSU should win that first one, but the second one will be can't miss TV.
anyone want to wager a friendly bet?
-
nobody here is your friend, tim.

Shut up stupid.

lol ok then how about a non-friendly bet?

When I say that Ford is going to stomp his ass off, you need to understand that I am not saying he is going to stomp bill. I am saying he is going to stand further on the court than he should and, looking all red faced and constipated, clap his hands and stomp his loafer on the floor to complain about something.
Edit: there should be no references to "stop" all should be "stomp". Thanks, emo.
-
Stop or stomp CNS? I'm confused here. I think I know ole Travvy Ford pretty well and I'm betting he's going to stomp his red little ass off, but maybe he's got a new tactic next year? If so, :horrorsurprise:.

Hard to say. Lopak started strong. They aren't really on the same path, but if TC keeps sawing wood, he'll get a little bit better every day until he is the poster we need him to be.

I'd rather have ford stomping his loafers compared to oscar standing there with his arms crossed with that stupid look on his face.

I picture tim as "that guy" at the sports bar, particularly if ku is losing.
I just can't help but thinking it's meltdown city, as in "sir we're going to have to ask you to leave . . . ", I could be wrong.
It's just that whole t-shirt nation vibe. Many of them live in the KC metro, most of them didn't go to college, or went to some "nobody cares" college, so they migrate to ku basketball. The Chiefs blow, the Royals blow and will likely blow it this year . . . the guy two cubicles down who went to ku has brainwashed them. So everything hinges on ku hoops and it turns oh-so-very-ugly when things don't work out.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe tim has posted his bio on here, I don't know, maybe Tim has 3 degree's from ku and is a 4th generation ku alum
Sorry in advance if I'm wrong tim . . . oh no, not really, but, well, you know.
Oh yeah, we're gonna suck . . . but come on, that dunk by Wiggins was nice, but dunks like that from guys who can jump are dime a dozen in slop ball pick up games, I mean really.
