Which ones are your biggest pet peeves?
Sure, there's the standard dumbassery misuse of their, there, they're, but the one that really grinds my gears is misuse of sale/sell.

literally. people misuse and overuse it so much.

My ex-boss used to use "behoove" incorrectly all time. He thought it meant "to make you mad" or something to that effect.
"It really behooves me when people don't do what they said they would do."
My co-worker and I would literally laugh under our breath every time he used it.
-
Using set when you mean sit is a real KState0 fan thing to do.
-
I suppose this should go in here as it's as good a place as any.... irregardless.
:curse:

I could care less.

I, literally had to read that post 5 times before i realized he wasn't trying to say "let us" but rather the synonym of allows

yeah the 'literally' one is pretty bad
-
I think a lot of these are mute points.
Nothing chafes my sack like a "mute point" bomb.

I think that's BS. How else are you going to differentiate your statement from hyperbole?
Also "could care less" is just as correct as "couldn't care less". It means you could adjust your care levels downward. "How much do I care about your stupid crap? Hmmm, let me see, yes, I could care less. Significantly less. Consider my care levels adjusted to the 'less' setting."

Although it clearly struck a chord amongst several in the uber PC crowd.

I like you mocat but you're wrong about the "could care less" thing. Flat rough ridin' wrong.

Flat rough ridin' wrong may be a bit of a stretch... I mean, there IS some validity to that argument until you get to the point where you truly couldn't care less. Then, of course, the argument becomes moot.

It's not as incorrect as saying "irregardless". I'm just saying, an argument can be made for "could care less". If one were so inclined.
-
your dumbassery really grinds my gears.
Well, excuse me for living.

Something tells me that you have a pretty good handle on the proper usage of both sale and sell...

Nope. Sorry, mocat.

I could care almost infinity more.
Edit for poor use of quote function
-
But "could care less" is often used in place of, and as meaning the same thing as "couldn't care less." That is what this thread was about. I don't think I've heard anyone say "could care less" and actually mean that.
-
Yeah. If you take the phrase in the spirit in which it is intended instead of just nitpicking to nitpick, there is no debate.
I still love you, mocat.
