Sorry, but I put no stock in an article that can't even get players positions right. Pretty damn pathetic, it takes two seconds to look up a depth chart and make an educated guess.

SEC also likes to sprinkle them in very late in the season, so as to avoid any threat to their rankings heading into bowl selection season. That, while the B12 teams are battling it out against each other.

I think they start conference games earlier in the season?  If one of the good SEC teams actually has to play another good SEC team, it builds hype that lasts all season....until the SEC starts eating cupcakes at the end of the season.
