Jesus Christ. You people are from Kansas. There's nothing there. Literally. Nothing.
-
Theres some champions of all things good Kansas State Wildcats there.
-
A fine southern hub
-
City is kinda lame for how big it is.
-
I thought Atlanta was pretty cool. Especially compared to my expectations.
-
Love it.
-
Only been to the airport.
-
i call it hotlanta
-
Marta was good since traffic is a nightmare there
-
I was in Atlanta for a wedding and we stumbled upon MTV filming My Super Sweet Sixteen. We were all :surprised:
-
i've always enjoyed atlanta. the airport is huge and gross and hot, but the city has a lot of cool things to do. especially if you have fam in the area.
-
Buckhead

Buckhead

Yes, good spot
-
I've never been to the Black Mecca.
-
the airport sucks rotten ass
Curious how anyone could think that. For the busiest airport in the world it is very clean and efficient and extremely easy and quick to get from one terminal to the next via the train thingy.
-
Been there one time, quite a few years ago. On the plane home I sat next to this very pleasant looking elderly lady. She asked me how i liked Atlanta and then told me "It's a nice city, just too many n*****s."
Caught me completely off guard, but maybe it shouldn't have.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I would never talk crap on a Delta hub
-
I had a week long conference at Emory University once. It's right around the corner from the CDC. I figure if a city that large has gone this long with that right in the middle of it we should be home free as far as NBAF goes.

this is from a mall in atlanta right by the georgia dome

Was taken here when I was in Atlanta for work:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/prohibition-atlanta
you are supposed to go into this old phone booth and enter some secret code and the back of the phone booth opens and lets you in. well, my druck ass work friend thought he had the code and just pounded away at the keys or dial or whatever for about 2 minutes before they finally opened the back door and asked him to just tell them the code. turns out he had an old code that didn't work anymore but they let us in anyway.
-
Very :blank: on Atlanta from my experiences there.

Prohibition IMO is the only bar in E. Andrews that might be worth going to. EA is a POS area and I will laugh in your face if you think it's "great".

pretty great turning in an expense report with "Dive Bar" as the establishment

The airport is great and The Clermont Lounge is pure sex but the rest is pretty meh.
-
The airport is increds. The only thing I can think of that cats2win would be talking about is if he flew AirTran or something. LOL, I have no idea what that part of the airport is like.
-
i like the underground mall. forget the name..

The airport is fine, it's just too busy. But I'll take Atlanta over Frankfurt or Amsterdam any day. eff your bus Frankfurt!
-
I like the Frankfurt airport
-
I just hate having to take a rough ridin' bus. Waste of time. Why can't they have real gates? I haven't yet, but I imagine it's pretty easy to miss a flight there.

Its too damn busy and most of the people that work there are pretty unpleasant.

you get a jetway on most of the bigger birds.
-
Usually fly Lufthansa, they seem pretty big? :dunno: What are some better options? I could do Amsterdam but haven't before, colleagues tell of similar experience.

not the airline, the plane. obviously you are flying lufty if you are flying to frankfurt. you are taking a bus (or a mercedes/porsche if flying 1st) if you are flying in a small plane. if you are flying an A380/747 you are using a jetway.

I like it when you're at an airport like that and the 777's look tiny.

Oh I thought we were talking about ATL, not the world in general. :dubious:

I get so excited. I'm like "OOOOH! LOOK! EMIRATES A380!" and mrs. dave is all "(glances for like one half of a cruddy second) cool" and I'm all "GAH!"
-
fun frankfurt airport fact: The lufty international 1st lounge is its own entirely seperate building. when your flight is ready they will pick you up in a mercedes/porsche and take you to it.

Just looked at my last few itineraries...you're right, flew like Chicago or Newark to Copenhagen and then after a few days Copenhagen to Frankfurt. Probably smaller planes for short flight. Could've sworn though that Frankfurt to Tel Aviv was bus.
-
I was just there for a month one week in April.
The Clermont Lounge is all I need in my life to survive and be happy.
-
I went to stone mountain and it was basically like the confederate Disneyland combined with the confederate mount rushmore.
-
Awful airport, cool little Atlanta history lesson on the moving walkway though :bwpopcorn:
Agree with the poster above, Marta makes that city so easy to travel in. Plus they have all of the main tourist attractions next door to each other downtown
Their aquarium was top notch

that's exactly what it is! i've been to the laserlight and firework show at least ten times. it was my favorite thing as a kid, now it's absolutely hilarious/pathetic.
in the 90's they would use the laserlights to draw an outline of the southern states and then the northern states before showing how there was conflict and it's been resolved. they had to stop because everyone would boo the northern states.

Its more of a demographics related joke, as white people only make up 38% of the population (54% African American)
-
Airport is great. Marta is great. Aquarium is top notch. Coke museum is a little brainwashy/Willy Wonka'y but p. cool. MLK museum will make you cry because it is so fantastic. Outkast was obviously increds. Atlanta is great, what is wrong with you rubes? Smh.
-
If you were in Atlanta, would you (a) be out having a good time or (b) be bitching about it on goEMAW?
Me: a
