My allergies are that of a 7 year old ostrich. I am miserable. My eyes looked like some sort of insect laid eggs in them.
-
do you take medicine?
-
AJ you are a true poet. Have you tried anti-histamine drugs?
-
Also NETI POT. not a joke. Use sterile water though.
-
When I was elementary school I took allergy shots for about 2 years. It helped quite a bit.
-
I take allegra every day and sometimes if it's really bad, i take some benadryl at night before i go to bed.
There's about two weeks in the spring and two weeks in the fall where i really think that if some one gave me an "end it all now" button, i'd be very tempted. But outside of those two weeks (and so long as i'm not around cats) i'm cool.
-
do you take medicine?
ya, ran out today. emergency visit to CVS. Pray for me.

-
been terrible the last week. never used to have them as a kid, but last 7-8 years it just gets worse and worse every spring/summer. i don't take drugs for it... maybe i should, because dlew's end it all button sounds pretty good.
-
I take zrtec(?) and flonase and I haven't noticed a tinge of allergy this spring. Fall is worse for me but it's been great.
-
I just wanted to give everyone an update. I was able to find my way to CVS and pick up my Zyrtec and the results are promising. I am by no means out of the woods yet but I bet within the next 6-8 months I'll be back to normal. Thanks everyone for the T's & P's and I leave you in the grace and favor of the lord.

I wish they were called NONErgies, right?

That's what I've got

Move to OC California near the beach, no more allergies. Worked for me.
-
Allegra, Zyrtec and Claritin are all different drugs to my knowledge. I take Claritin one day and Allegra the next, and during the 2-weeks that DLEW mentioned I take both the same day. Seems to work...?
Call me when my Nobel prize gets here.
-
I personally prefer Zyrtec
Pro tip: CostCo sells generic cetirizine in bottles of 365 for $16. at paying $1/pill at Walmart/CVS

You can get similar deals at most pharmacies I think. I get bottles of 300 at Kellstroms on Sunset.

This. Had horrendous allergies my whole life. Moved here and they completely disappeared.
-
A Claritan every day keeps the Allergies Away.
-
I finally bit the bullet and went to the allergist last month and got the skin test thing. Turns out I am allergic to a shitload of crap, so I'm starting shots next week. Cats and hayfever are the worst. Did you know that you can apparently be allergic to roaches?!?
-
They're awful right now you guys.

-
No, that hasn't happened to me aj
-
hmm - someone tell me what is wrong with me
it feels like I'm on drugs, no other symptoms
-
Is the lightheadedness only in the very front (ie sinus) or the whole head feel like it?

If your allergies affect your ears, that could be a reason for dizziness and or nausea.

yes, this. Mucous buildup somewhere in your head.
Gonna win 'em all!

Still lightheaded :dunno:
-
At least Wichita excels at something. :flush:
-
Since moving to the Chicago, my allergies have been super pud. No more ragweed in this guy's nose.
-
Still lightheaded :dunno:
so, turns out I've had a vestibular migraine for the last 6+ months. my recommendation for you is to not get one of those. i no longer feel like i'm going to die. thank you.
-
I've had a headache for over a month and someone suggested that it may be allergies. Not having any allergies has always been a point of pride for me, however I'm kind of hoping that's the problem.
-

have you considered vestibular migraines?
-
D00d, if I had a headache for that long, I would be getting a scan.
-

when i go to california my allergies clear up instantly, it's amazing how much i feel like crap everyday and don't really even notice it since it's pretty much every day.
-
They're really bad right now. :frown:
-
ugh. Makes my teeth/upper jaw itch and throb. Mild headache and of course makes me a lit scatterbrained. Hate it! I found something once that worked super great for it, but of course lost the package so now I have no clue. :'bye cruel world:
-
One of my buddies is hyper-allergic to mold. So like most apartments or office spaces are a no go for him. Imagine interviewing for a job, getting an offer, and asking for an expensive mold specialist to come in an take some samples?

I think quality hill has some mold problems, because my allergies have been worse this spring. I also am really bad in Allen field house, barns, and old garage spaces.
-
Sounds like the seasonal transitions are getting to some of you.
Before I moved to Chicago (where there are very few trees, grasses that bother me), Nasocort was the only thing that ever worked for me. I can't speak highly enough of it. The Winter --> Spring and Summer --> Fall season changes used to make me miserable for about 3 weeks apiece. Started taking nasocort consistently and it was a non-issue.
-
Joining Costco changed my life. Nasacort 3-pack for $35. That's like the price of 1 at CVS.
-
I always had seasonal allergies pretty badly, but for the past couple months it's turned into asthma, rescue inhaler and all. Got an appointment with an allergist tomorrow. Can't wait to pay a grand to hear I'm allergic to dust or something.
-
Mine have been acting up lately, I've at least been taking my meds the last few days some improving, but gah, I must sneeze 10-12 times a day, and it's pretty grody ones too :(
-
I'm off my meds so the test can be accurate. Yesterday was fine until I went on a crazy sneeze fest for an hour or so. Same with the grody.
-
I've had a headache for over a month and someone suggested that it may be allergies. Not having any allergies has always been a point of pride for me, however I'm kind of hoping that's the problem.
Finally went to the doctor today. Diagnosis: Not allergies (or vestibular migraines)
-
mine have been bad, back on zrtec and flonase for the next 5 months

Allegra seems to be taking the day off today. I'm miserable :frown:
-
I've always been known for the volume and intensity of my noseblowing but since moving I've had 0% allergies. very interesting. I guess im not sensitized to the local allergens? Japan is moldy as hell but it doesn't seem to be an issue. Maybe I'm allergic to Kansas agriculture?
-
Maybe you are just not allergic to j-mart tube meats :dunno:
-
eff you, Wichita!
The top 15 worst cities for allergies are:
#1. Wichita, Kan.
-
Kansas as a whole is a large pile of allergy hell. I was so bad last night. Thank god for flonase.
-
My allergies are hit and miss but they are definitely not as bad up here as they were in Kansas. One of the houses I lived in Lawrence was the worst. I was fine until I mowed the lawn. Every time I mowed I'd have slight difficulty breathing and would feel out of breath. I at first thought I must really be out of shape because it wasn't a big lawn, but eventually figured out I was allergic to whatever type of grass was on that lawn and my throat would swell up. After that house I've never had another issue like that. Still don't know what was there that made me react so bad. Maybe just the Lawrence air...
-
flonase every morning helps my bad allergy genes perform like normal non-allergy genes.

I take an Allegra in the am and it usually helps. I did not take one today tho
-
Well I usually don't have bad allergies - usually just sneeze a bunch. But yesterday I felt like crap. I started taking Zyrtec a couple of days ago. I feel a little better today but I attribute that to the use of a NetiPot. I don't think the Zyrtec has kicked in yet.
-

sorry to rick daris belt this thread up but I keep about 10 allegra in my office drawer for days when I accidentally forget to take it at home.
-
I used to but I used them all up and haven't bought more
-
Mine haven't been bad at all which is super surprising

Forgot my Flonase this AM. :curse:

I've never had allergies or sinus issues before is this something that can spring up outta nowhere? I've had some sinus/allergy type stuff going on since Monday and its a real bitch

So much drainage that my tonsils are irritated. Ugg.

has it been seven years since your last body change?

I'm probably due for a servicing.. I haven't been to a doctor in probably 7 years or so

It's going to suck, but the only thing that semi helps me is Zyrtec. It's really expensive, but it eases the pain.

I buy the over the counter Allegra. Take it every morning for half the year.

I might finally get a shot this year. No one should live like this.

costco brand is $12 for 365 tablets
also if you guys use flonase, ask your dr for a generic script and get it from the pharmacy, it's $5 instead of $100 or whatever
-
Yoga just try whatever before you buy the Costco value pak. You don't want to end up with an entire season supply of nightmare inducing Zyrtec.

How much can you get?

Had another smoked oyster reaction. I thought was in the clear. I just have to deplete my stash then I will probably stop buying them :(

Are these canned smoked oysters? You might actually be allergic to the liquid smoke and not the oyster.

Symptoms are gone.. I'm wondering if it was a cold or if I'm going to get my world rocked again here soon when it warms up this weekend

probably closer to first one. haven't tried tbh. but can't wear like necklaces or rings etc unless its platinum. also can't use alot of deodorants. irritates the skin and a nice little rash and swelling happens. been working in germany for a couple of months now and there was irritation on my thighs. it was from all the euro coins ive been carrying around since it is not a card friendly country. weird allergy imo.

open can, poke with fork, insert in mouth, chew, repeat steps 2-4 until gone, throw away in the kitchen trash so it doesn't stink up my desk
EXCEPT! on this particular day i made lettuce wraps with goat cheese and smoke oysters. it wasn't that good.

Yeah, it was supposed to clean me out for a week. I have two days left. She wants to schedule me with her Allergy doctor next week. She just gave me some instant relief. Which was nice, because I finally got to sleep with a window down for once.
-
What did I just say? Clams isn't a health care provider as far as I know. Roid up. Get jacked. Clams has gone on far too long being tall and looking down on the rest of us. He clearly is intimidated and doesn't want the challenge of another stud roaming around kc.

First lawn mowing of the year last night, had to stop halfway through because I could barely breathe. Still feel like crap this morning even though I chugged a bottle of zyrtec :bawl:
-
I've mowed the last two Mondays and we're due to mow again today. Wife gave me the option of mowing or walking gator. That's how bad mine have been. She actually gave me the option to walk the dog because I look like a monster after mowing. Maybe take it to the shame thread, but I hope she has fun mowing.

What are allergies?
-
:Yuck: Anyone else, yet?

Kind of starting

it sounds truly awful, t's & p's
-
Nothing yet but last year was the worst allergy year of my entire life.
-
Last year was very very bad.
Haven't felt anything yet, but a phone alert this morning told me to prepare my anus.
-
What makes these bad boys the worst, is with this weather you want to open up the doors/windows and grill. Let it all hangout, you know? By doing this however, you're injecting yourself with a lethal dosage of death.
-
I couldn’t wear contacts today mine are so bad :frown:

I was on Zyrtec and/or Advil 3/18-3/24. Yesterday was my first day off of it and it feels great! :Woohoo:

I'm 95% certain i have a cold. I took a covid test even though i had it like 2 months ago. But I'm still not certain this isn't allergies.
I sneezed 6 times in a row yesterday :surprised:
