if Trent Green isn't on the list I won't even recognize it as a valid attempt.
-
joe montana, john elway and dan marino would get cut first day if they played today in their prime. it was such a pud sport back then.

:nono: Talk to TD who made his career.
But hey, I wouldn't expect much from most people here to acknowledge the black guy.

the race card? really? that's what you're playing? you're only reinforcing J-Dub's Elway boner when you go about it in such a dumbass way.

Disagree. His legacy is entirely defined by his super bowls. His legacy if he didn't win the super bowls would cement him as a good/great QB, hot a top 5. No one sits backs and thinks about how John Elway was the prototype QB in pro football like they do with Marino for example. Look at his first 3 super bowl trips, utter embarrassments for a QB. Against the Pack he was around 50% with no TDs.
I'm sorry that isn't good enough for people to put him above a host of others players.

LOL at anyone who doesn't recognize that black running backs aren't seen as replaceable and not worthy of the same commemoration as white QBs by the NFL, especially in these types of situations.

Tom Brady is GOAT at QBing and just Being

Great post
-
TD didn't receive a bunch of post career recognition because of his career ending injuries. I think it's widely accepted, had he played a full career (whatever that means), he would have been recognized as one of the top 3 professional running backs of all time, but wish in one hand and crap in the other.
GMAFB with that argument. Elway is a top ten QB with or without TD.
(Davis is my all time favorite running back)

So just to be clear, the reason some view Elway as a better QB than Marino or Montana is because Terrell Davis is black. Great point numb nuts.

So....do you ever breath with your mouth closed....or are you just looking at 100% mouth breathing all the time.....?

RB is the most replaceable position in the NFL, ednksu. Good backs are a dime a dozen, and most of them have careers that only last 4-5 years because they wear down so fast. People are quick to discount them because them because they are easy to replace. It has nothing to do with race.

My goodness you're a dork

If they stopped playing before 2012 then they are hot garbage.
-
Brady is too cool to even care that he is the top guy ever, but he is. I mean, he stopped needing that like yrs ago.

LOL at Phil Simms being better than Elway.
-
Guys, it's Marino. Seriously. He did all that passing throwing and never had a single 1000 yard running back. It was the Dan show on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down every time. And they still couldn't stop him.

In Marino's first 14 years in the league his offensive lineman and receivers were voted to 30 pro bowls. In Elway's first 14 years in the league his offensive lineman and receivers were voted to 6. Shannon Sharpe was Elway's first pro bowl receiver - as you're probably aware, he was a tight end.
Through his first 14 years, Elway was already the leagues all-time leader in wins. He won more games than any other qb in history (at that point, and also when he retired) while sharing the field with only 6 pro bowlers in all those years. He only had 2 pro bowl WR's in his entire 16 year career. Anthony Miller in '95, and Ed McCaffrey in '98 (Elway's final season).
Nobody has ever done more with less. Then he won 2 super bowls.
Quick sidenote: after Elway retired, the defending champion terrell davis led broncos started 0-4. then davis blew out his knee. i loved td, he was an incredible back. but he was only a rb.

gotta have a ring to be in the top 10 if you ask me
-
Guys, can we promise right rough ridin' here that we won't let this thread tear us apart?

*(ednksu is already my least fav poster on this blog, so don't let my responses to him worry you emo..although i am trying to be nice to him fwiw..that previous dumbass comment notwithstanding.)

I couldn't agree more. If Marino were that great, he would have won a Super Bowl at some point in his career. I mean he played for like 20 years or something.
-
1. Limestone (I don't know Limestone, but I bet he was/is an NFL quarterback. If I am right, then he is the best, and it isn't up for debate.
2. Elway
3. Fran
4. Unite us
Then it gets pretty clouded.
-
Jim Kelly was a first ballot hall of famer but man I can't get past losing four straight Super Bowls.
-
I'm pretty sure being the last quarterback to win back-to-back superbowls doesn't hurt Elway's case.

How many others went to four straight? Easy to overlook imo.
