The next phase of Master Plan calls for a new 20,000 square foot weightroom to be built on to Vanier.    Frankly, we could have had a much large weightroom a long time ago in all probablility, but a certain someone backed by major tuck thinking believes that facilities like that aren't necessary.  Despite what many of the tucks say it's a perfectly legit question/reason for recruits to consider S&C facilities and dressing rooms etc. etc.  When they know that in this day and age they'll be required to spend so much time there.   This is one case where a head coaches hyperconservatism hurts the program.

Absolutely. A recruit would frickin pick his jaw up off the floor after seeing that place and probably commit on the spot. Unreal. And all the amenities. jesus h christ. SPEND THE MONEY! How does 20k sq ft compare to that?

We need cooler crap.  no doubt.

But, we could have a 90,000sqft facility made of gold and no recruit is picking us over Alabama.

That neanderthal said it best, "We don't care about the cool name brand stuff, we care about function". We need a facility that is aesthetically pleasing.  I bet that we have the same equipment that Alabama does, but we don't have the massive room with the windows that give recruits the :horrorsurprise: factor.

i think its more of a generalization question. We are 21-3 the last two years I am happy with that but expansion has to continue to take the next step imho

The SEC... "everything stays in-house"

If the general public could sniff the skeletons in the SEC closet, they would be no more.

Hah no it's more of a realization that any attempt to would be futile because of facilities like that. I mean dear god every nfl team is envious.

I love when they're joking about how s&c coaches can't do math and the media guy says "neither can we" and instead of   the guy just gives em a "yyeEEAAHHHH COME ON!"  Really gets some extra oomph from the bottom of his gut too.

I watched an interview (60 minutes maybe?) where Saban cruised around that lake on his pontoon boat and the boat in that covered dock looks like it could be a pontoon.

He also gave this great quote at SEC media day this past year
Quote
I could give a crap about all that, excuse my French.

I mean, come on. Let’s talk about the game. What year are we talking about when we’re not gonna play Tennessee – 2025? I’m just hoping I can still go to the lake then, still can walk around and go on a pontoon boat ride.
