Title: Other Studs (No puds welcome)
Post by: BRULL on April 28, 2013, 12:46:06 AM
Thoughts?

It was obvious Andre the Giant was a stud in 2011

Cook needs to get on the field... WR or FS

Thanks MBC, Baby Gronk did show us something to think about.

One more that came to mind, Barnett showed a little maturity. I hope he continues to progress.

Gronk Jr.

Was he running with the ones? I'm really looking forward to watching him go all Gronk on the coverage teams. Bet he lights some fools up.

Gronk looks like a 4 year starter. TLBL looks like an All Big 12 receiver.

Steve Dave says otherwise. Baby Gronk was only a two star and vim pretty sure TLBL was only a three star. Obvious puds.

No love for Jack? Dude hit a 51 yarder through the North endzone goal post thingies, I believe...

I'm treating it like we have the same kicker again for awhile so I don't have to spend any new love.

Well just some words for thought. Jack's kicks were never making it into the endzone on kickoffs. I don't think he has as strong of a leg as his brother.

Probably on purpose

Maybe one of the other kickers can handle KOs if we need them to?

I think hang time is what is trying to be acheived. It's hard to get turnovers on kickoff if you kick it out of the endzone everytime.

Kicking out of the endzone seems like an intentional walk with the ball being moved up last year.

I hate how we never get touchbacks on kickoffs. Just boot the ball out of the end zone and give them the ball at the 25.

Because it's kind of Pud, that's why. It's only cool when after smashing anothers team's face in and we're up by 21 and then kick it through the endzone. Like a kitn when your on the ground already. Espeacially after BL16 just took one to the house opening the third qtr.

A lot of times last year we wouldn't kick them through the endzone and we'd hold the return team behind the 25.

That's just not worth the few times we gave up a touchdown on the return, though.

The point is that for a D1 kicker it probably takes more practice to consistently get some hangtime on a kickoff and drop it at the 4 yard line than it does to always kick it out of the back of the endzone.  Thus the reason (I'm guessing) that little Cantele never kicked it out the back in the spring game - he was practicing.  Once the real games start I'm sure they will mix it up a bit just like they always do.  I just have a hard time believing that he actually has any trouble kicking it through the endzone just like his big bro.

Stan Weber did mention during the game that there is a chance McCrane will not redshirt and will be the kick off specialist.

Gooch, not trying to be a dick, but read the rough ridin' title. TIA

Back to the matter at hand. I don't think we are giving Mr. Cook enough credit here guys. DITR

What happened to the backup from last year? He looked pretty good when Doer was hurt.
