I found one major misclassification -- how many can you spot?
-
Yeah I'll get right on that
-
where's the Stanford Cardinal at?
edit: nevermind, found them.

Kansas is wrong, we're the Sunflower State not the Jayhawk State. I have no idea where Wichita State is on that chart but they should be with resource extraction.

Kansans were called Jayhawkers though. The Shockers are listed under professions.

Yes but the category is state nicknames, and that isn't the state nickname, the others listed there are accurate. KU should have been listed with soldiers or warriors, somewhere with the people. Do you know the history of your nickname?

Shouldn't Cornhuskers be a profession?

Yes and I feel like they should be in the resource extractors subset along with Wichita State. Yes Nebraska is the Cornhusker State, but the state was given that nickname based on the school not vice versa, so yes they are also misplaced.

The have Bradley twice. Once in the Abstractions circle and once in the Braves circle. They are the only Braves team that was also placed in the Abstractions circle. I'm not sure I follow the logic there. Braves is an abstraction in the same way that Warriors is an abstraction. And why the eff wouldn't the Salem Spirits be in the Mythical/Supernatual circle? The Flying Dutchmen and the Mystics make it, but not the Spirits? They royally mumped up that Abstractions circle.

I wonder how many of the state nickname group actually adopted their nickname from the state nickname or what they are actually named after. For instance we know that UNL did not adopt their nickname based on the state nickname. Ohio State did however base their nickname on the inhabitants of the state instead of the actual nut. The nickname Buckeyes was not even adopted officially for OSU until 1950, the State of Ohio had been using it for the previous 100 years.
