If I played basketball I'd be #25. I'm kind of OCD about the number 5, so squaring it to get my number seems appropriate. Also, I can't think of too many famous basketball players who have worn this number, and I like to be unique.

i was #42.
i liked #42.
-
I was #23. I wanted to be like Mike, but I wasn't even close.

That's in illegal number. You can't wear it unless you are in the NBA and are willing to get fined.

I lost 23 when they made new Jerseys in HS and ended up with #3 my last two years. So I guess I'll go with that.

Yeah, I knew it had to be mid-to-late 80's, given your age, but looking at the hairstyle and given how the photo was grainy and black and white, I was assuming it was shot in the 70's. Maybe the 80's just weren't as advanced as I remember them being.

I think our school was too poor for color photos in the yearbook.

4. Growing up they gave jerseys out by size of the player. Lower numbers were smaller sizes and vice-versa. Since I was just a little tyke, I got #4 and it has been my number ever since.

Spradling.

I didn't make the Jr high b team, so I never had a basketball #.
Wore 44 and 32 in football though.
-
44 because there were several bad ass power forwards in the NCAAs that wore 44 at the time (early 90s')

In little league baseball and soccer I was always #3. Why? Because it's a cool number. :dunno:
Basketball was for thugs.

Was a pretty big Jalen Rose fan. He wore #42 in HS. We didnt have a #5 in HS or Jr. High.
-

Because Danny Tartabull and Chris Webber. One season in High School I was 42 because I liked Walt Williams and our uniforms looked just like the mid'90's Sacramento Kings.
-
#20 because I loved Damon Stoudamire at Point Guard U
-
any two digits which add up to 6. i don't remember why.

-
31. Chosen because it was one of two numbers (other was 14) when I picked my number as a freshman.

66 for football and took 6 as my practice jersey
-
Can't remember if I was #1 or #1000
-
I always wore #1 in city league basketball as a kid. In 7th grade football I was given #12 so I stuck with that throughout school in bball and football. Was very excited when Bill Walker debuted in it.

I never played basketball in school. But right now I'm number 4 on team #StrutNCut. But the only reason I'm 4 is because someone else already had 3.

Whatever the number of some player who shot constantly without making very many shots and bragged about each shot he actually made was the guy who's number you should've had

I was away at a scholar's bowl the day everyone got to pick their number. I guess no one wanted it because the year before some exchange student from Japan wore it and they were all :opcat: about it. Everybody called the kid "yoshi" and he drove a badass trans am while he was there, so I wasn't even mad.
-
Was a either of 13/00/55 throughout my career. I'd go with 00 just because I enjoyed having the big center number and being an extremely undersized post for most my years.

Surprised no one has mentioned the most stud of all numbers, #11. So far superior than any other non-stud numbers IMO.

This is good. j-dub to Marshall comparison is pretty eerie really.

I was 24 in high school, I wasn't able to pick my own number if so I would have picked 34 for Sir Charles.
I have been 1 since, it was my baseball number and I like it. In retrospect my baseball number might have been slightly racist, back then I feel like every speedy black baseball player wore 1.
