Title: A few bad apples spoils the bunch

If police officers everywhere see this, I may never get a warning for speeding again.  :curse:

But the episode bothered McBurney (who denied going 87 mph) so much that he wrote to Swindle's superiors on legislature letterhead, complaining that Swindle was favoring state officials. "If those who enforce our laws fail to meet the highest ethical standards, there is erosion of that confidence," McBurney wrote. "I am concerned that as Trooper Swindle acted in such fashion to me, that he would do so to any law-abiding citizen of our state."

That letter launched an internal investigation, and two weeks ago, Swindle was fired for "conduct unbecoming a public employee."

Pet Peeve:  Local, County, and State guys who are always 10-15 mph or so above the speed limit.   Don't give me this, "They're going 'quiet' to a 'situation'" if there was really a "situation" than I'd hope they'd be going much faster (When they're responding with lights/sirens in some cases they're 30 or 40 plus over the limit).
This.
Also, when they whip an illegal u-turn and then just nonchalantly drive off in the other direction.
Don't give me this, "It is safe to do since they have been trained." If that is your argument, then I'd say, "It is safe for me to do because I have two eyes and a functioning brain so I also know when I can make an illegal u-turn and not cause an accident."

I make illegal U-Turns all the time and have yet to get caught. This is because I have 2 eyes and a functioning brain and don't do it when there is a cop in sight.

My brain functions well enough to read directions and not have to make illegal U-turns all the time

Cops are always rough ridin' flying through my neighborhood, sometimes usually no siren.  They're going to kill a kid someday.

Bottom line is, he's got a badge and a patrol car. He's gonna do whatever the eff he wants and nobody can stop him. One of the perks of being a cop. I would do it too if I was one  :driving:
