Somebody had WGN as a kid....
-
I cannot think of a team I care less about than the Cubs.
-
I like the emoticon
-
I like the Cubbies. What's not to like about them? So adorable, they are, decade after decade.

Pretty much the entire NL, is what mocat does not give a crap about.
Except the Dodgers. rough ridin' love the Dodgers.

holy crap!

I don't understand Cubbie bandwagoners (DJamer Wally). Most bandwagon fans cheer for a team that has actually had some kind of success in their lifetime. The Cubs are consistently awful. Just because you had WGN as a kid doesn't mean you can be a Cubs fan.
Love me some Crime Dog though.

I am definitely more of a "White Sox guy" than a "Cubs guy" when it comes down to it.

Listen, you just go enjoy your turtleneck and carmel frapp, and I'll just stick to trying to not get shot while I'm building my stadium. Pals?
-
all this thread needs is a quick kornheiser appearance and then we shut it down and everybody takes the afternoon off.

I attended 2/3 of a cubs game but then got the hicups so hard I had to leave to buy antacid.
-
DJamer Wally was trying to argue how die hard loyal the cubs fanbase was because they had good attendance for how bad the team is. He acted like having cheap tickets in a city of 3m people was completely irrelevant.
Cubs games are social events.

I mean he's not wrong. Other cities with 3m+ and terrible teams don't pull as well as the cubbies

The Cubs get great attendance because their old crappy stadium is a tourist attraction for people on vacation. Having all of their games nationally televised on WGN helps a ton, too. I know a whole lot of Braves fans who always watched them TBS, too.

Just having all of the games on TV, and most in the afternoon was a big deal as a kid. The Royals were only on tv for about 50 games a year, but the cubs were on every day after school.
6 year old 8mp:
Ryne Sandberg
Mark Grace
Sammy Sosa
Randy Myers
Shawn Dunston
Glenallen Hill
Harry Caray

jerome walton just called to tell you that you aren't a real cubs fan based upon his glaring omission from your supposed list.

It's Shawon! Also, no Andre Dawson :dubious:

Cubs are 4-7.

That's a good start for the Cubs, no? :dunno:

Agreed. Excellent point.
-
FSD and 'Clams, your players were worthy mentions except that their last year with the Cubs was 1992. 4 and 5 year old 8mp hadn't really discovered the Cubs yet, so my true fanhood for '93-95 era Cubs is still intact.

This pretty much sums up being a Cubs fan......
