Title: Does Spradling start next year?
Post by: SPE_khat on March 24, 2013, 08:51:39 PM
Is there any chance he doesnt??? Maybe Foster is a baller and makes it in the starting line up right away?

foster is not going to be able to defend and is not going to be a credible primary ballhandler as a freshman.  and that's a best case scenario for him.  if you want spradling replaced, orris has a more realistic chance.

What makes you think he cant be a decent defender?   I have not seen that much tape of him, so i am not disagreeing with ya.  Just curious what makes you believe this

few freshmen are good defenders as freshmen, and foster doesn't have any outstanding physical attributes that'd make you think he'd be better than typical.  he's a 6'2" three star who played low-level hs hoops; one should expect he'll have a normal to slow learning curve.

Do you think he can defend as well as chest-cave-Will? And is there a reason he needs to be a primary ball handler?

no.  i should have just said ballhandler.

but someone has to spell art, as well as handle the ball when teams force it out of his hands (which i assume everyone will do).  maybe they'll just have southie bring the ball upcourt against the other team's 3 or 4 (i would).

this  is a  bleak picture  being  painted by sys.   Maybe we  frank Orris and  bring  in another Murda?

I thought Thomas was the backup pg, off guard of the future?

he's ineligible to start the season.  presumably, he'll back up art in the 2nd semester.  might be interesting to play him and art together, but you'd have two sub six-foot guards and no shot blocker behind them.

You don't know what a scapegoat is, apparently.

this is a bleak picture being painted by sys.

spradling has been a starting guard for kstate for three tournament years, if it's a bleak for next year, it's not primarly because an incoming freshman doesn't push senior spradling to the bench.

Seems like we had that before.
