The control tower will be closed if the sequester isn't changed. The airport will remain open and flights will continue.

They are closing the tower in the posturing over the budget "cuts" that aren't actually cuts (when you reduce 25% of the automatic budget increase, is a cut?).

The airport will remain open.  Not a huge deal when considering the amount of traffic at Manhattan Regional Airport.

Has AA changed their stance on stopping flights to locations that would lose the ATC?  I admit I have no idea on the chance that MHK loses their ATC, but I know that when the whole possible ATC cuts discussions started AA said they would no longer fly to locations without ATC.

 :dubious:

ATC =/= Airport is Open

MHK has essentially no traffic, the few that do arrive use Marshall to navigate around the fort anyways. There are hundreds of airports all over the country with scheduled airline service that don't have towers. Even a few in Kansas.

Luckily American Airlines doesn't fly into MHK. American Eagle does and has had at least one takeoff and landing per day without the tower in service for the last couple years. I'm not sure what the tower's current operating hours are, but I know it's not working for the first flight out or the last flight in. And there's really no need for a tower at MHK. There's one commercial provider with 4-5 flights. It's not like the airspace is exactly congested.

3,000 airports in the U.S. Less than 10 percent have manned control towers. MHK will be fine.

LHC Bill Snyder will get his players no matter what i think. One thing though, Charlie Weis is at Kansas. The culture might be changing up there. they landed a really good corner out of texas, albeit he's white fwiw. I know arkansas was on this cat hard though and he looked legit in his tape. runs a sub 4.4 and 40 inch vertical with mad ball skills.

Don't know who this kid is, but you do know sub-4.4 means his 40 time is <4.39 seconds, right?

DON'T YOU LIE TO ME, BOY.

I find it most interesting that he resembles a KU fan that doesn't attend KU more than he does an actual KU student. Also, his film shows a lot of pud opposing QB's....
