I think this proves college basketball isn't a zero sum game.  By KU getting good, we got good, and KU got better.  The whole pie got bigger, boys! And Kansans like to eat themselves some pie!

Too bad their football team sucks so much, or else they might turn a profit.

That's cute how "One Sport U" is using hoops as a life preserver to keep the ship from going the way of the Titanic.   Funny that they didn't mention whether ku's hoops team even broke even...

Some interesting photos and captions here too: http://www.forbes.com/special-report/2012/business-of-college-football.html?lc=int_mb_1001

Guys, this a total TSC moment.

Public D1 universities in the STATE of KANSAS have the highest combined 'total value' of basketball teams in the entire country

If KU could get it's other sports up to par, we would easily be the most profitable state in the country at sports.

A slap to the face for all those Texas and Oklahoma schools.

eff, I had no idea they were hemorrhaging cash in all their other loser sports that badly.

How the hell do you make $20M in hoops & LOSE $8.3M overall?!?! What a monumental clusterfuck that athletic department is.

Its like a Fortune 10 company having a few divisions that suck and others that are the best.  We are going to have to have a chat with the Real Estate dept.
