The area around Manhattan and Junction City, Kan., are among the nation's fastest growing, according to new population estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau.
With a 2.8 percent population increase from July 2011 to July 2012, Manhattan, Kan., made the No. 10 slot for the fastest growing metro areas, while Junction City, Kan., made the second spot for the fastest growing micropolitan areas for the same time period, with a 7.4 percent population increase. Geary County, which encompasses Junction City, was the third fastest growing county, with a 7.4 percent increase from July 2011 to July 2012.
