When I saw this during the game, I went crazy. But I don't think Smart connected, or Shane would have been wheeled off on a cart.

connected or not throwing a punch is supposed to be a tech and ejection I believe.

Shane is so frickin' adorable the ref unintentionally swallowed his whistle.

The loss of modeling income had that landed would have had Smart basically playing his NBA career for Shane.

And not as big of a deal, but did you notice that when OSU bad no timeouts and was trying to inbound the ball, the ref game him like 7 seconds? Crazy.

After watching this more, it does look fake. Look at #KState player after "punch" by #OKState's Smart. http://i.imgur.com/9yeN6MN.gif

Can someone make a gif of the calls where Shane and Nino fouled out.  I thought both were suspect calls.  In both cases, it didn't look like our guy even touched Markel Brown, but he sold the head juke to the official and the official bought it both times.

My conclusion: we need to hire a better acting coach.  When OSU players act like they get fouled, the officials believe them.  When our guys act like they get fouled, the official kinda laughs and says keep playing.

I think this is right, which makes looking the other way even more egregious

No, neither was a foul relative to the contact permitted the first 39 minutes of the game.  The chin flopping was pathetic.

They were queationable, but after watching the first one get called, you can't be a dumbass as a player and make the same clntact with brown.   It's those kinds of fouls that piss me off, when Nino gets thrown to the floor and angel gets bodied to the floor and we get nothing.

I thought they both were fouls.   Not a ton of contact but both guys clearly bumped Brown and got in his path.

Tired of pointing it out, but B12 officiating has been nothing short of brutal this year.  Angel's foul was a complete joke.  The no-calls down the stretch compared to the last two touch fouls by Shane and Nino were laughable.  Not that it cost us the game...but sheesh.

Looking at goetucks like michigancat come out and defend horseshit officiating like occurred yesterday is a firm reminder of how complacency got us the quality of refs we have today. Thanks michituck, your blind ignorance is the root of the problem.

Why the hell were we hedging along the sideline anyway? I mean just switch and follow him to nowhere.

I thought they were fouls, but they hadn't been exactly calling that a foul until then. Just IMO.

we hadn't been trying to hedge with our arms before then, either. They were both just awful defensive plays.

Michituck, We hedged all game, you dolt.

Regardless of whether by definition they were "fouls" it doesn't explain away or justify the unbearably one-sided officiating on display yesterday.  Their star swung at our player without recourse, that is laughable.

Still, they went to the monitor to look at Jurrick's rebound where he dropped his arm on Nino, but not something that looks like a legit uppercut btwn the only two players on that end of the court while waiting for an inbound with a ref 15' away.  I mean, they are the focus of the ref, the cameras, and the game as are any players at that point of an inbound, yet noting.

Doing something would have disrupted the predetermined outcome of the game too severely
