Just like in football, K-State won't accomplish anything on a national level.  You're not a championship contender or even a Final Four contender.  You're a good, but boring, team that capitalized on a weak basketball league (same thing for football).  This is the height of K-State athletics.... winning Big 12 co-championships.

i like the part of the article where smellinger basically told everyone that k-state is the most big time Big 12 athletic department in the country

Man, I feel sorry for KU fans.  As if we needed any more reason to flaunt our wealth and superiority.  We're going to be absolutely insufferable.

There was no dancing, no high-fiving, no hugging, no hoisting of the Big 12 championship trophy in Kansas University’s basketball locker room on Saturday night in Ferrell Center.

“It doesn’t feel like we won it at all, really,” KU senior center Jeff Withey said after the Jayhawks’ 81-58 blowout loss at Baylor.

Winning a championship in the most important sport and the second most important sport in the same season is a HUGE deal.
