Title: Now that's Efficient Offense
Post by: Powercat Posse on March 06, 2013, 01:34:25 PM
Last 11 games, our offense has been so good and so consistent.

1.18 ppp
53.4% eFG
40.2% 3pt
76.8% FT
1.61 A/TO ratio

To have an idea how good we have been the past 5 weeks.  This is what other teams have done in conf play

1)I said our ppp was 1.18 -- Belmont is 2nd in the nation with a 1.18
2) Our eFG is 53.4% -- Indiana is 45th in the nation with a 53.4%
3) Our 3pt is 40.2% -- Portland St is 20th in the nation at 40.2%
4) Our FT% is 76.8 -- Northern Iowa is 14th in the nation at 76.8%
5) Our A/TO is 1.61 -- Denver leads the nation at 1.59

* IN all 17 games, our A/TO ration is 3rd best in the nation, and our ppp is 19th best, and our eFG is 47th best

Yeah, lost in an ugly game with very little defense was how great last night's offense was.

From the annals of kenpom:

09 Gardner Webb 1.47 PPP
11 North Florida 1.42 PPP
03 Texas Pan American 1.41 PPP
07 Tenn Tech 1.35 PPP
13 TCU 1.34 PPP

Yeah it has been amazing.

Last night we only attempted 7 FTs.   And our ppp was still 1.36
Against Tech, we only shot 3-16 from 3pt.  And our ppp was still 1.19
Against WV, we had a TO% of 30.5.   And our ppp was still 1.20

How much lower do you think that ppp figure would be without Shane turning into the efficient matchup nightmare that he has been?

Its been a combo of things.   Shane playing well and taking advantage of playing the 4 is one reason.

Angel's play (especially his shooting and scoring numbers) is probably the biggest factor IMO.

Big Gip has ave 10.5 pts while shooting 60% in this run
