Now it's time. Back then, no. But now, yes.

Weird thread

There is still plenty of basketball to be played and expectations to be met.
So far he's been great and a conference championship would be fantastic.
But at the end of the day, basketball seasons are defined by what you do in the tornament. The season has set us up with an excellent seed and if we don't take advantage of it this season can still have a disappointing ending. I think for most, a Sweet 16 is the expectation now and if we end up a 3 (or even 4) seed that is reasonable.

He made me shut up as soon as I saw how fluid the offense looked. His legacy and career at K-State will all come down to recruiting (as we all know). Hats off for coming in on year one and mushing haters. Keep it up. :hatsoff:

If oscar wins the title, Frank is a better coach than I gave him credit for.
-
Getting Angel to stay was his biggest feat (so far).
-
And I disagree with fan. This season is a huge success if we get the title, regardless of tournament results.

martin and weber both got lucky with art. martin maybe made his own luck a little more, but his connections weren't throwing art equivalents at him every year.
kstate fans were also lucky.

True, we're talking significant history with a title.
-
no way martin would have won a championship with this team and his pud offense. no way shane and art have the seasons they are having without this staff.
weber/lowery 2016

The point of the thread is that now we can give oscar a chance. He has us one game from a championship. I certainly don't mean we should stop being critical of him, his recruiting, or whatever. Just that we should stand there and hold our torches and not burn the man at the stake, not yet. A loss this Saturday, or poor showings in the Big 12 Tourney or the NCAA's and we can BID.
-
A loss Saturday would be very disappointing, but not a disaster (unless they run us by 20 or something).

Oh we'll lose saturday. I can assure you of that. And that's fine.

I think we "gave him a chance" when we handed him the rough ridin' keys to a high-major basketball program.

Yeah, there's a surprising amount of optimism or willful ignorance about what's gonna happen Saturday. The Cats can still have a really special season with a Sweet 16 run, but it's hard not to be bitter knowing that 14-4 should have won this conference, but for the refs handing their favored team an extra W.

There’s nothing special about 3rd place. Win the conference or gtfo.

I haven't spent any money on the Roundball Cats over my opposition to the hire. Used to have season tickets. I think if we win the Big 12 or make a deep run in March/April I'll probably be back next year. That's what I meant.

If you're reconsidering, you should at least get tickets for Angel and Shane (and Gip).

I stopped the money on bb this yr too. That said, I also bought the $99 tickets for non con and weekday games for next season the day they first came out. so, I am back in for the Angel/Shane/Gip show.
