:sdeek: don't recall this ever happening at fake patty's

also, how cool would it be if there was a big mardi gras party in the ville? or is there and I just never knew about it?

As a fan of NOLA I'd recommend going to Spring Break instead of Mardi Gras. Spring Break has all that Mardi Gras has minus the floats, jacked up prices, and the hundreds of thousands of people having their mid-life crisis.

In summary, Spring Break; younger, cheaper, cleaner, warmer weather, and less crowded than Mardi Gras. NOLA is fun regardless though.

Went to the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus parade this weekend, which is possibly the weirdest and most glorious freakshow I've seen in a while. So many LOLs because nobody takes themselves seriously at all and everybody just has a complete blast. Oh and where most "real" Mardi Gras parades have celebrity kings, Andy Richter was the Pope of Chewbacchus. They just wheeled him around in this weird tiny cart at the beginning of the parade. They filmed it for a bit on Conan, I think it may air tonight. Holy crap, so many LOLs.

Conan bit is on right now.

*edit* Holy crap, they blew that hard. Should've devoted like 8 full minutes to Triumph The Insult Comic Dog-style interviews with weirdos.
