Mangino to become new o-line coach for Stoops.
-
that sucks.
-
God damnit.
-
Would really make me  if he had his stomach stapled and had a normal body shape instead of a perfect sphere
-
Mangino would have been pretty elite as our WR coach. :frown:
-
Could prove to be earth-shaking...especially on the OU sideline

hopefully he won't be there long...although it's possible he could be a successor to the OU throne if Bobby ever makes the jump to somewhere else.
-
oh, because he's fat
-
Mangino would have been pretty elite as our WR coach. :frown:
Yeah, but he tucks would never have let that happen. rough ridin' idiots.

To be fair, I'm a little tuckish about all of that. If Mangino ever wanted to have a chance at coaching again at K-State, he should've cooled it with the "i helped build it and i'll help tear it down" when he was a squawk.
It's too bad, but comments like those damned him.
-
To be completely fair, I am sure that he had no idea that he would be forced our and disgraced and eventually looking for a job that wasn't a HC job in the somewhat near future back when he said that.
Coaches say stupid crap all the time. Most of it is to motivate their players or fans. I would love it if Bill was ever quoted about how we own texas and how we were getting ready to go rip crap up somewhere.
The past is the past. Grab the dirty MF'er and ride him until he loses.

Oh, I get it. He must be dirty because he's really, really fat and probably doesn't wash his ass properly. Hur hur hurr.

I'd hate it. Overrating Mangino's accomplishments because he previously coached here is pretty tuckish, IMO.

Has nothing to do with the fact that he used to coach here. He did well as an underling at OU and is responsible for the only thing resembling decent football at Lawrence for almost my lifetime. I would be fine having a guy like that coach under Bill again.
-
Interesting that Bobby fired Jackie Shipp along with their current OL coach....I wish we could get him to replace Mo. Jackie Shipp has out-recruited our entire staff over the past 5 years.

We lost head to head with Jackie on several "key" recruits this year.
-
Mangino always had a nice eye for talent. I'd say he's a better recruiter than anyone on the staff based on finding guys like Heupel, Whittemore, and Reesing more than anything he did here.
-
If we had a pud OL coach, i would say yes..but we've got Charlie, and I like the results i've seen from our linemen up to this point
-
I assumed this thread was about Okcat's wife enrolling at OU. :dunno:

Pretty sure Leach discovered Heupel and Whittemore was the Jayhawk Conference MVP, so discovering him wasn't exactly amazing.

We could have made Mangino WR coach, though.

That's true. I wouldn't have minded that. How weird would it be having a man that outweighs our ENTIRE receiving corps coaching them? That would be insane! :horrorsurprise:

oh snap, got me again rough rider.
-
FWIW, one of my best friends coaches HS fball in TX, and has coached at schools that regularly send kids to high majors (B12, SEC, etc.). Said Mangino is a GREAT recruiter and that kids loved him when he was @ KU. So, yeah, I wanted him back.

I've heard from a reliable source (grade of A+) that several buffet places in Norman are worried.

Worried? If anything they need to open another couple locations. :kstategrad:

Excellent post here. If there was one person I would want to watch eat at a buffet, it would be Mangino. I bet he is a true visionary when it comes to plate organization and anti-sneeze guard food grabbing maneuvers. You know his plate would be much like the spread offense with four chicken wings out and mashed potatoes/gravy in the pistol formation. French fries would obviously be the offense line and a helping of mac and cheese would be the tight end.
-
KSUblumpkin, I hope you don't go on a non-posting spree again. Your time away from here was awful for everyone involved.
-
He's not going to OU per @bbjsports. Sucks for everyone.
-

Confirmed for all-you-can-eat buffet establishments. They're setting up a 36" cordon entry to the buffet as an anti-Mangino barrier. Facility security has been stepped-up.
-
I think I could really cash in on an arena-style buffet with observation deck. Perhaps add in extra sneeze guards and other obstacles to make it more entertaining.
-
fat jokes aside, a buddy of mine shared a plane ride with mangino this last holiday season (coach, lawl) and he looks like hes lost a hunded pounds or so... i mean hes still pushing 300 but i be you could get your arms most of the way around him

Yea, he takes credit for knowing Patterson was coming to K-State before anyone else. Now we all know from Synder's comments that Patterson was never even considered.

More suggestions that the Norman food supply is safe:

Of course, Stoops is a student of Snyder, which means he may hire an assistant and then waits for weeks to announce the hire. OK by me.

Well, there's an unexpected turn of events.

I wonder if Eric will take the big man with him when he becomes our next head coach. :crossfingers:

I would think he would stick around YSU and become head coach.

Backup quarterback Drew Allen won’t practice with Oklahoma this spring. He plans to transfer to another FBS school after graduating in May.
NORMAN — Senior backup quarterback Drew Allen is working out through the spring, but not with the Oklahoma football team.
Allen, who fell behind Blake Bell on the Sooners’ depth chart during the last preseason, plans to transfer to another Football Bowl Subdivision school after he graduates in May.
NCAA rules allow players who have graduated to transfer to another FBS school without sitting out the usually required one season, under certain conditions.
“He’s a wonderful guy and will do well for somebody,” said OU coach Bob Stoops.
