For a half some things looked similar to Ames; the Cats were turning it over on nearly a third of their possessions and allowing ISU to rebound half their misses. But similar to the 2nd half in Ames, the home team won the TO and Oboarding battles (substantially) in the 2nd half to pull away for a win. And as a result, K-State fans sit alone in first 1/3 of the way through February for the first time since the late 70s.
Bunches of stars tonight; Rod, Angel, Gip, Tay all came up huge. This team is balanced and tough to stop. And the Cats go to Lawrence in a couple days with a chance to pull 2 games ahead of the Jayhawks.

Love the FTR and the second half o-boards. Also, I can't remember the last time K-State had a team that was shooting with this much confidence. They don't all have to go in, just take the open shots and know in your mind that it's going down. Lovin' me some #bruceketball right now

1.52
-
A half where both teams rebounded over half their misses is crazy. And 60% OR% is ridiculous.
-
The 8 minutes for JO is a matchup thing right? #notcomplaining #justasking
-
Good to see the TO's get straightened out. Took some nice shots from ISU and came back from them or kept them at a distance.
I wonder if my +/- would be the same as will if I was given his minutes.
-
PPP is based on a possession ending in points/dboard/TO, correct?

Yes.

That and playing terrible while he was in for those minutes.
That said, we'll likely need at least 15-20 good ones from him Monday.
-
Isu gave us their best shot shooting wise. 60% and 12-27 from 3pt. Babb in the 1st and McGee in the 2nd. And they still were down 71-57 with a few minutes left.
Cats were up 53-52, and defense was better the last 11-12 minutes and we hit some crucial FTs
-
Other notables...
PTs off TOs: 27-13 Cats. (16-1 in the 2nd half)
2nd chance PTs: 20-10 Cats (17-5 in the 2nd half)
Cats assisted on 61.5% of our makes.
-
Cats 18-5 run in 8:25 to put the game on ice 71-57.
That was much needed as Isu had gotten 50 Pts in the prior 22:30.
A lot to like on offense
51.6% 2pt
50.0% 3pt
81.8% FT
59.8eFG%
1.28ppp
48.0 OR%
If we would have had 8-9 TOs, it would have been basicly perfect game offensively.
-
Our defense just seems like something I should be worrying about.
-
Don't be, Isu is probably the 2nd best team in league with the best offense

oscar told you that when you talked huh?

I got some sick comical pleasure out of our bigs (primarily DJamer) hedging on their guards when no screen was set, effectively leaving their guy for no apparent reason to double the ballhandler and leave their man wide open for a bunny.
-
ISU is good on offense. They hit some tough shots. Babb made a 27 footer. McGee was on a "heat check" in the 2nd half. Could our D have been better? Yes. But I'm not gonna let this game make me worried.
We did a good job on Clyburn and Niang IMO.
-
What if Jo knew what to do with Shane's super sexy dishes?

That was about my only complaint in this game. DJamer was making things REAL easy for ISU.

That's what Shane was wondering during the game.

don't blame jhr because shane can't pass.

I'm not. I'm saying Shane thinks he can pass wonderfully.

It was Shane's fault for not hitting him in the rough ridin' nose. I cant believe there are still lingering jO defenders. He's a product of his own futility, bury him.

Welp, I called for more action out of Gip and I got it. 20 mins, 16 PTA, 10 boards. Fn stud. Big reason we won toight.
-
If we win the Phillips 66, I will be change from team BID to team oscar is Cool with me.

BID fundamental premise is success with Franks players. A title will just make the BID that much more powerful.

Thread title could be taken a bad way(or good for kim carnes :fatty:)

I get that but I was thinking like second round exit success. Winning the Dr Pepper and Phillips 66 in one year would be worth at least 2 shitty oscar seasons. If we make the Sweet 16 on top, well, I just don't know what I would do.

oscar completely set this up when he was interviewed on The Border Patrol on Wednesday. First, he essentially said JO only starts because he is a senior, then he said his minutes get cut when he plays an opponent that pulls him out.

You called for more Gip and JO. I dont think anyone is pining for more Diaz, DJamer, and Nino. Also 20 minutes isn't really more Gip.

1.52 ppp
56.7 FG%
12-12 FT shooting
60.0 OR%
13.4 TO%
Everything figured in. Our best offensive half in some time.
Jake's Sr year we put 52 vs T Tech in 1st hf with 64% shooting and 7-8 FT
