but everybody is already discussing it elsewhere because the site was down . . . again.
-
Glad this blog started working again so we could discuss it. Sheesh.
-
Probably a good move. Should bring a bit of stability; its hard for me to doubt Snyder at this point, but we'll see.
-
Coordinated attack by the AD and the Meat Goat Lab. Those goats know how to DDOS like a boss
-
Can't hate it. I won't doubt a man's ability to coach a few more years who just brought us a big 12 championship at the age of 73.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but don't they announce a new five year deal every year now?
:bill:
-
The only thing I'm upset about is that it wasn't a 6 year deal.

It was a rolling contract with set increases. This new extention gives him a bigger raise for this year (replacing year 5 of the original).
It also has higher values for bonuses and higher values in the "Continued Employement as K-State Athetics Representative" section. Before, there was a clause that after he is no longer FB coach he is still a special assistant to the AD with set requirements for it, such as required appearances, as long as he is mentally and physically able. Before that was $150,000 per year. The new contract sets that at $250,000 per year.
Edit: I left some stuff out. The 2009 contract rolled on an extra year at the end of each year. However, it appears that rolling additional year ended after 5 years, so really the original 5 year contract effectivly maxed out at 10 years. It also set that the year 5 pay was the max pay, so in those extra rolling years he wouldn't get getting a raise. The new contract sets out a new schedule for him to get raises for the next 5 years. Under the old agreement he wouldn't have raises in 2014-2017.
Finally, the new contract removes the sentence "At the conclusion of Coach's last Contract Year as established in this Agreement, the University's obilgation shall not renew". It looks like they took off the effective 10-year cap that the previous contract had.
-
Isn't this the same rolling contract he always gets? Signs one every year, right?
-
I could give two shits less what we think about this. This is more entertaining: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=2485&t=11235778

except this one pays him an average of $2.95 million yearly

also lol @ dax expecting some sort of professional service and 100% uptime from a site that is clearly run by some good bros who just do it as a hobby. crap happens, these guys aren't getting paid to fix it so it'll take time. if you don't like it go post on rivals.

The usual suspects never fail to deliver anything less than 120 proof humor.
4 consecutive Falls of Failure aka #20straightconferencelosses has made those poor lil guys sullen and bitter. The sad thing is, even at 78, Coach Snyder will likely be more spry than Coach Hoov-a-Round is right now, or ever will be . . . somebody get Coach Hoov-a-Round some heavy duty memory foam and cooler to sit on.

 or :dubious:

I thought John and Bill hated eachother, or Bill hated John, or John hated Sean, or something to that effect. Why the raise? Why the extension?

So I guess Currie and Frank got along fine, too.

I guess the only difference was that Frank quit his job and left for a shittier one, raise notwithstanding. Bill didn't.

Who is more likely to be here in 5 years? Currie or Bill? And if Bill, does he get more say in who the next coach is?

Bill will be the AD in 5 years and yes. Spoiler alert: it's Sean.

people just change a lot between 75 and 80.
-
out of curiosity, can anyone tell me how this extension ranks in terms of previous extensions? Kinda looking for details and I was also wondering if Bill was at the end of his contract when he retired the first time or in the middle? Any answers are appreciated TIA

Not that it really matters, but it's written into the contract so this is as good as place as any to post
Coach shall also provide appropriate input to the Athletic Director and the President regarding the selection of the next Head Football Coach.

Bill has a lot of growing up to do. When he's 80, he's going to look back and say "Wow, I can't believe how immature I was just a few years ago"

Beyond the compensation and bonuses, Snyder's contract includes similar benefits to his previous deal: group insurance and retirement plans; the use of a courtesy vehicle and a vehicle stipend; the use of a suite in the stadium, which is undergoing $75 million in renovations; membership at a country club; men's and women's basketball tickets, including Big 12 and NCAA tournament tickets; 10 hours of private plane use annually; $50,000 for business-related expenses; other travel benefits, and the use of the school's recreation complex and associated facilities.

-
lol at the idea of Snyder taking a vacation.
Hey hun, would you be up for a trip to Palm Springs this summer?
No. I'm going to the office.
-
I can guarantee you that bill knows exactly how many seconds of plane time he has left each year.
-
Hey, did you guys hear that LHC Bill Snyder is old?
-

It's a rolling contract that is extended every year, this is how his contract was set up when Currie re-did it 2.5 years ago. 100% certain that Dax and Belvis both knew this when they made their posts.
-
Really? Use of the Rec? GTFOOMF JC.

10 hours?

That's probably personal private use, not official use.

Re: ... another day, another KSU assistant coach bails
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soren Petro said yesterday that they're leaving because "Sean Snyder has been announced as the next head coach" per his sources.
Anyone shocked the the cheerleader hasn't brought this up, or even asked Stanbot about this today?
KSU message boards = concerned
-
Watching Dr. J swing and miss on everything revolving K-state is probably my favorite past time.
-
I can guarantee you that bill knows exactly how many seconds of plane time he has left each year.
i wonder if that rolls over
