Title: Folks, this could be something we need to consider . . .
Post by: sonofdaxjones on January 30, 2013, 11:26:35 AM
first of all, the fact that ku is in concert with the city of Lawrence in propagating urban sprawl, in one of the worst urban sprawl areas in the United States . . . this is a concern.  Can any locals discuss possible wetlands encroachment?

While ku kool-aid drinkers continuously argue that the City of Lawrence funds are "separate" from the ku funds.  But we all know how these little back office . . . "we'll borrow from the foundation, and we've got these two 'friends of ku' who want to sell us the land, and we'll stretch it out over 30 years, and if you guys (the city) toss in a couple of million . . . think of all the tax revenue and tourists coming in . . . " deals work.  Particularly in formerly quaint, now laden with strip malls and parking lots and beige subdivisions JoCo style burbs like Lawrence, KANSAS
