Title: Cuse's Arinze Onuaku
Post by: ZmoneyKSU on March 23, 2010, 12:07:55 AM
Katz and Gottlieb going at it right now on ESPN.  Boeheim reportedly saying Onuaku is probably not playing on Thursday because he still can't practice.

Gottlieb saying he thinks Cuse knew this from the beginning and announced Onuaku would be fine to practice after Big East tourney so as to keep the #1 seed.

This has been my thought from the day they got hurt. When I saw how much an injury hurt Purdue's seed, I saw that Cuse had every reason in the world to lie about his injury not being that bad. Does this help our percent, or was it already factored in?

Interesting. So is he out of the tournament?

I would assume so if he's not even practicing yet.

I thought this from the beginning too. Dude really looked hurt when he went down. My moneys on that he doesn't play again this season.

I also don't think 'Cuse did anything wrong. They don't owe anybody any explanation and considering the timing it just made sense to downplay the injury.

'cuse will play much harder now because of this. we def have no shot at final four.

This is what I thought until I saw the way the rest of the Big East was playing. My wishful thinking tells me that Cuse is overhyped just as much as Villanova and G'Town. However, these type of thoughts usually just make it hurt more when we lose.

Pretty great news.  I was just looking this up today to see his status and couldn't find anything.

They're still playing ridiculously well without him.  But if he won't play Thursday because he hasn't practiced yet he probably wouldn't play sat. either.

Awesome move by Boeheim if true. Would totally give the dude a high five if I passed him in the hallway. I would expect no less of Frank. Love  LOVE coaches that play with IR intrigue.

The Orange are playing some scary basketball right now without Onuaku, so I don't think it's gonna make much difference.  We've just gotta keep rolling.
