For that the Wildcats can thank oscar Weber -- or at the very least John Currie, the athletic director who drew criticism for hiring Weber just weeks after he was fired by Illinois in March.
off topic, but I absolutely hate when a writer discusses "program tradition" as a reason any one team beats any other team in any single game.
I get tradition brings in kids and home court fans, but what the eff does it have to do with anything last night?

"We've played some good teams and we've competed with them," Weber said. "We're a good team now. Are we going to stay here or are we going to get better? Are we going to move forward, stay stagnant or go backward?"
Just three months into his first season, it's tough to see the latter occurring.
Not just with Weber's team.

I noticed a lot of wildcats on facebook also very pleased w/ a moral victory. WTF.
Most of your run of the mill KSU fans are happy to just compete with KU in basketball (especially if we own them in fb). I will say I was encouraged we continued to fight back each time when KU stretched the lead out to 7 or 8, I was concerned how this team would react to adversity with this staff.Quote"We've played some good teams and we've competed with them," Weber said. The positive from last night is that there is no way that KU team is winning it all this year. Once that determination is made every year (whether it doesn't come until they get knocked out of the tourney), I can relax and enjoy the rest of the season.
As I'm sure has been already discussed, that game last night was frustrating because of the end result, but it's just hard for me to be too upset about it. We are clearly a good team that can hang with anyone even when we aren't shooting it well. This offense is producing so many open looks. I can NEVER remember getting the type of shots we got off against a KU team before. Even when we won two years ago, Jake was hitting shots with guys right in his jock. Also, Southwell is a match-up nightmare so if he continues to hit shots, we become nearly impossible to defend.
At the end, it was a typical KU game. Every ball bounced their way and we just couldn't get over the hump. But a lot of positives to take out of that.

it's wishy washy unsure about stuff comments like this that are going to absolutely drive me crazy the next five years.
"I think this league has great balance. I just hope we can compete to be in the upper echelon of teams."
still cant believe Jason King was the first person to block me on twitter.

Yeah, pretty awesome that the tuckbase presses the “reset” button on the heels of the best 5 year run in over 2 decades.
Losses should not be encouraging. They should make you angry. Feeling good about losses gets you 6 years of Wooly.
At least McGruder didn't accept defeat. All that matters is if our team doesn't take it as a moral victory. He's quoted in ESPN, "I'm upset we lost that game. This is the last time I'm going to play them in Bramlage," McGruder said. "But we have a lot of basketball left. This can't be the end of it right here."
We are alright guys. Our tuck fanbase can suck a big one :emawkid:
