53% of our shots were 3s, we shot 30% from behind the arc, and we only rebounded 28.% of our misses. 41% on 2s want good either, but a good 17% TO rate. And of course we got killed in FT rate, but when you become a team that relies on jump shots that is going to happen.
The 3 became a huge part of the game, and honestly I have no problem with it. We forced some, but we had lots of open shots too. We finally got oboarding going a bit in the 2nd half, but if the shots weren't going to fall we weren't going to win this game. It was a pretty simply formula, we rolled the dice on the perimeter more than I thought, and we lost.

we just regressed to the mean. kstate isn't a .55 efg team.
-
We had a ton of great looks that clanked #spradling
-
1st half we had good looks galore..... and they were just barely missing
Will had a bad night on offense. Unexcuseable to go 0-5 at home from 3. I like Tay but to be fair, he did very little as well. 1-4 from field, 0 asst/1 rebound/0steals in 18 min
And Diaz only hurt us too. Could not grab 2 straight rebounds and tipped both out of bounds (counts as KU off rebound) and then he just stood there as K Young missed a bunny but got the o-board and scored with 1 second left in 1st hf
-
Why don't we rebound. It's so painful to see.
-
Ellis hit a FT with 11:27 left and ku was up 46-41
They only scored 10 pts in the next 11 minutes
Unfortuneately, 5 of those 10 pts were 2nd chance pts
And we had 5 TOs in 10 possessions in this stretch too

We were small the whole game
-
We got our faces chewed off.
-
KU shot 21 ft's, we shot 7. KU made 13, we made 6.
Jumpshot!
-
If we shoof poorly we win that game. We looked like we were trying to make a j at the crooked county fair.

Yeah, I don't remember thinking "C'mon, he got fouled!" a single time in this game. Not once.

Benny Mc's first block on McGruder was questionable, could handle a no call if there if KU bigs weren't treated like royalty (not to say it wasn't a clean game on both sides).

Angel got MUGGED a few times going into the lane. Rod had a couple atrocious checks and Gip got screwed on a few. You are right that we didn't get into their chest enough, but weren't playing an evenly called game.
-
Yeah, i thought the officiating was about as good as you can possibly ask for.
McLemore whacked JO at about midcourt and no foul was called. and Then JO had a couple touchy fouls on Withey
With no inside scoring threat vs Withey and as good of a shot blocker he is, i didnt mind us shooting a ton of jumpshots.

Going into the game I knew there would be a huge free throw discrepancy. I thought it would lead to a 10-15 point KU win, so I was pleasantly surprised that the game was that close. KU did get the benefit of the whistle more often than not, but this should not surprise anyone who has been watching Big 12 basketball for the past 15 years. The refs will side on the Squawks side more often than not against any Big 12 team.
-
I thought it was a pretty fairly called game. Sure, we had a few that went the other way ex. Withey's elbow to Thomas and then foul on Thomas early on, Withey's getting a phantom foul and then missing a dunk afterward, Angel not getting a call on a bump and then dribbling out of bounds. I wasn't probably watching with as keen of an eye in the stands especially with KSU on defense, but i'm sure we got away with some too.
Still, I think the physical nature of the game helped KU at least slightly more than it did us.

Guess I must have watched a different game. I thought the refs were pretty bad on both sides, with perhaps a slight advantage to K-State. The announcers were sucking K-State's dick all night long as well.

Fran loves us, thanks to Frank.

Dave Armstrong is pretty much Mr. KU broadcasting

Slight advantage to K-State? STFU! You guys had three team fouls with less than a minute to go.

I didn't really think the refs were all that bad, and they were really pretty even. There were a few missed calls, sure, but there always all. We aren't going to get calls shooing nothing but 3's and mid-range jumpers.
-
Gipson was appalled he didn't draw a foul on his 1-2-3-triple-deke!
-
Gip got screwed, witch hurts us because we need him for offensive rebounding. Offensive rebounding is a great way to draw fouls.
-
No one got screwed, anyone who thinks so is a fool. There were some bad calls, crap happens.
Jesus Beems Dave Armstrong was absolutely awful. I've never complained about him being a KU homer but he's always annoying. Tonight he got caught up and acted like he was on the Jayhawk Network. Fran was Fran.
It was also a treat actually seeing Bob Davis have one of his pouty crap fits we hear so often on the air. I would love for trim to add the clip of Davis having a hissy fit when McLemore stepped on the sideline late, was hilarious seeing it on TV. I also had no idea he was so old and fat.
