"I had a coach tell me a few years ago that [Bramlage Coliseum at] Kansas State was one of the toughest environments he'd ever been in," said a Big 12 assistant who asked not to be identified. "But when we played there a week later, there were only about 7,000 fans. I guess they only show up for certain games."  :dubious:

Who started the name OOD anyways?

Love how much butthurt KU had when Drew wouldn't leave the tunnel with his team during the pregame vid and how they said he was scared it would intimidate his players, etc.  But now they start off this article with how his players couldn't even hear him.

Think the butthurt squawk would at least remember what year it was that he knocked his squad of chokers out of the tournament

His article then goes on to list a top 10 with most teams on it that have widely fluctuating attendance numbers.  Also that article may have set a record for most number of times a school is mentioned in a national compilation column.

That's what happens when the author also has books to sell about said school and their arena.

Iowa State 70, at Kansas State 68: The Cyclones are 6-3 in the Big 12 but only 1-3 in league road games. ISU played well in two of those losses, however. It was on its way to a win at Kansas before Ben McLemore banked in a 3-pointer with 1 second remaining to force overtime. And Marcus Smart's layup with 3 seconds remaining lifted Oklahoma State to a 78-76 win over the Cyclones in Stillwater.

Do you think Jason King cried himself to sleep last night, thinking that he'd have to drop KU out of the #1 slot?

Not that his "power rankings" haven't been a joke all season  (ISU?   )   One bad loss and he drops KU all the way down to fourth?   I schadenfreude as much as the next fella, but come'on?  KU fans are like drunk chicks at parties, they just won't shut up about anything.

At least theres that big 1 next to emaw

Self said more than 3,000 Illinois fans were waiting to greet players when the team bus arrived in Champaign after the Illini won the 2001 Big Ten title, which was only the school's second league crown in 17 seasons. You can bet marketing-savvy Kansas State will put out a commemorative video if the Wildcats catapult ahead of KU and win their first conference crown since 1977. In smaller, one-bid conferences, a first-place finish is usually celebrated more, simply because those schools know they have little chance of a significant run in the NCAA tournament.

He's rough ridin' with us, right?

Three Questions For This Week
By Jason King
Will Kansas State win its first conference title since 1977? Yes. Well, kind of. My guess is that the Wildcats will end up sharing the Big 12 championship with Kansas. Both teams are 13-3 in conference play and have easy home games during the week. K-State hosts TCU, and Kansas hosts Texas Tech. That means it will all come down to Saturday, when Kansas plays at Baylor and Kansas State plays at Oklahoma State. The Wildcats' game is definitely the tougher of the two, both because of the opponent and the venue. But Kansas State hasn't been upset all season, and I don't expect things to change Saturday.

What a idiot. We'll be AT LEAST 3 pt underdogs for the OSU game, maybe 4. Not an upset.

4-5 games would be a huge stretch without the meltdown. I would think they lose one of those three games sans meltdown and win the conference by 2 games, but I'm just a homer so what do I know.
