Stupid thread, yes we will win
-
I think we win, but its going to be an ugly, game. Two poor shooting teams that like to oboard. Both teams are particularly terrible shooting 2PT shots and K-State is slightly better at shooting 3s, which is a big key for K-State, especially from Will, Angel, and Tay. Huggs will have a good plan to make things hard for Rod to get shots, but that will leave openings. Both teams want medium paced games, and this game probably turns into a low 60's possession slug fest.
The two biggest changes oscar has made in K-State's team is cutting down turnovers and fouling. This Huggs teams is decent at getting to the FT line, but not great at forcing TOs. Really for a Huggs team this is a mediocre defensive team, but things can change in conference play and as others have said his teams will get better as the season goes along.
K-State has to handle an ugly game, win the rebounding battle (on both ends), and hit some outside shots. If we can get into the 60s we probably win and with the confidence this team has I think we do.
Cats 63 - Eers 57.

we're due for a game where we finally shoot the ball well, i'm hoping this weekend is it because i don't know if we can out-rebound coal aggie. our advantage is the depth we have in the paint.
WVU's guards scare me. every team we play's guards scare me.

No, sorry...meant I won't want to watch a game that relies on outside shooting from those three guys.

the weird part of your post is that every game we play this season fits into that category

Those players didn't do crap in our win against OSU. :dunno:

we won despite them, not because of them. good grief kougs.
-
I'm still mad at Frank for throwing the game in Wichita last year as a show of respect for his sensei.
-
kougs, do you really believe those guys will combine to shoot 1-15 every game?
I'm not asking them to hit 40% from 3 and 55% from the field, but if that group can combine to got 3-9 from 3 and 7-15 overall every game then we're don't have to rely on Rod to score 26 every half. That's a reasonable expectation to go along with a very solid 15 assists and 5 TOs they had vs OSU and we can be a real good team if they play that way.

Hence, the point. Good grief clams.
Also, fwiw, I'm pretty much :blindfold: during all our games, to your point about all our games being dependent on the outside shooting of our guards. So it fits.

kougs, do you really believe those guys will combine to shoot 1-15 every game?
I don't really have a hard time imagining something close to that abysmal. :dunno:

I understand having a bit of pessimism about those guys, but 1-15 is an outlier shooting performance, even for our guards.

So is what Rodney and Nino did.

Lots of :fistpump:
And hopefully he can get some of these to JO :alleyoop:

That was kind of the point. If the guards don't have a negative outlier game, Nino/Rod don't have to have a positive outlier game. Was my point that difficult?

I don't think the guards had that much of an outlier game. :blindfold:

Yeah, cynical is okay, I get it. It seems like it used to be a bit more reserved. I guess goEMAW going to goEMAW.

The oscar hiring shattered my cynicism restraint. I hate him.

Statistical outliers are fact. Your not allowed to just think they aren't. :dubious:

we'll see at the end of the year how outlierish that performance was.

I'm sure Angel, Tay, and Will are going to combine to shoot 7% in Big 12 play.

Thank god we have Tay to keep that from happening.

Just need to avoid whatever Texas did to lose in OT.

Sounds like we're going to win. YES!

I can't wait until we mush huggs straight to his FACE!

I agree with the thought that Angel is due for a good game. A week off was probably really well timed for he and Tay.

Cats 71
Coal Aggie 58

first to 55 wins!

Great to have a coach that doesn't pee down his leg every time he sees Huggs.
