Willing to buy up to 500, something about rebuilding a childhood dream.
-
there's probably some rookies. seems like all different kinds and from all different years. I don't really remember for sure because I was really drunk my entire life during the times I was personally collecting these or whatever.
-
LOL'd hard.
-
Do you have any Michael Jordans?
-
Throw out all the ones where he's playing for the Reds, then we can work out a deal.
-
I'll trade you straight across for a shitload of Gary Sheffield rookie cards.
-
The Ken Griffey Jr rookie card is the most produced card in baseball card history. I will take them off your hands if you GIVE me $20.
-
-
I've got one of those big boxes of football cards from 1990 (unopened) in my mom's basement. It's going to take more than some crappy KGJ cards to get that box, though.
-
Listen I understand the "Self-Policing" but there are some lines that should not be crossed.
-
I love the episode of Fresh Prince with Ken Griffey Jr. on it.
-
:D
-
Do you have this really rare of of Griffey hanging out with the Babe?

Do you have any Frank Thomas cards?
-
Show me, Show me, Show me. Show me ya moves
-
I have an absolute crap ton of Frank Thomas cards. Including a sweet rough ridin' error card.
-
I had a couple of boxes full of FB and BB cards, used to spend hours looking up their value in books. Last time I remember looking it up the value was around $600 in the late 90's.
I always told myself I would sell them for spending money in college but they were pretty much worthless by that time.
2 Years ago my parents basement flooded and I got $400 from the insurance company!!!

I have the Bill Ripken "fuckface" card.

hmm...
-
I too have a crap ton of cards stashed at the house. They used to be worth something. Now, they make good coasters for my beer.
-
I pulled any that may resemble value some day and put them in cases. The rest are in a big box. Someday I want to get a storage locker, put a few empty guitar cases, box of shitty cards, empty expensive jewlery boxes and other crap in there and just let it go to auction. Then go and enjoy the auction.
-
Also gun cases and those aluminum cases with the WARNING: Radio Active Material sign.
-
I was really excited to have a Kordell Stewart rookie card. Oh well.
-
Have you had them appraised?
-
My Griffey Upper Deck rookie card is my favorite. Also- my Albert Belle collection is huge.
-
OK, I got a guy interested but I get a finder's fee, cool?

Oh wow. Sorry to hear about this steve dave. I would like to start a fundraiser to help you in your time of need. My goal is to raise enough money that you can keep your KGJ cards that I'm sure hold a lot of sentimental value.
I'm thinking a car wash and bake sale to start.
-
you know, it might not be a bad idea to hold onto those things and pass them down to Little Steve Dave some day

First make him take up the hobby. If he doesn't care for it, just push harder. Don't be afraid to smack him in his face and call him names to get it done. He'll thank you for it later on down the road. It's a financial investment and a pastime. Sometimes the best thing for your kid is a bloody nose and a pack of baseball cards.
-
so anyway, is that guy a poster here or not?

violence? no. i'm sorry but we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
the best way to get him to like collecting ken griffey jr baseball cards is to continue to super glue a different KGJ card to the kid every day until he starts liking them. start with his chest, then his back, arms, forehead, etc. glue the entire card to him too, you may consider using a paint brush, dipping it into a can of super glue, and brushing the adhesive onto the card so that it sticks really well.
anyway, that's how i would do it and i bet it would work rather well.
-
If you want your kid to take up card collecting, you are probably going to have to find somebody better than Ken Griffey Jr. to get his attention. He sucks ass. Sorry, but somebody had to say it.

I liked how he always wore his hat backwards for the home run derby and when he was just warming up and stuff.

remember when his wrist went all CROINK! into that wall?
-
Have one of those Slugfest pitch/hit pinballs that dispenses cards, guess I could make it to dispense shitloads of KGJr's.
-
if these haven't sold yet, i'd like to take a look at them saturday morning, i'm willing to take a look and possibly pay 25% of Beckett value from 1/13 edition for any cards in mint condition (only mint cards will be considered).

If I ever...I mean ever, see you in real life, I will probably punch and kick your sack really hard. Once for even thinking about typing that and once for actually typing it.
I would take them SD but I already have all of them. :gocho:

Hi, I'm Ken Griffey Jr. I was the best overall player for 3 or 4 years when I was with the Mariners, then I went to play for the Reds instead and suffered injuries like 10 years in a row because my fragile body couldn't handle the 'roids. Now young adults who grew up watching me play but no longer follow baseball don't realize that there are players in the league now who are light years better than I ever was and they expect my baseball cards to be valuable just like Babe Ruth's. It's great.

If you can tell me what you have I can point you in the right direction.
Mostly football cards but some baseball and unopened packs of both from the late 80s early 90s.
Most valuable card I think I have based on googling is a Bo Jackson baseball rookie and a Barry Sanders rookie
-
Am currently in the process of moving and came across my bball card collection. I pretty much stopped collecting in '96 but I managed to find a Kobe rookie card before I hung 'em up. Gonna sock that one away for a while.
-
anybody who gots KGJ rookies (only Upper Deck) pm me (mint only)

I have moved most of my cards on twitter through the below twitter account. If you post what you have for sale he will retweet it to his followers and you get a large audience interested in your cards that will likely make you an offer higher than if you were just trying to sell them to a card shop. You will probably get more selling the higher end cards individually but someone may make you an offer on them all if you go that route.

Priceless masterpiece. I’d make it the centerpiece of whatever room it’s displayed in if I were you.

Off topic, but in the same vein. I found out the bike I bought for $350 in 5th grade & has been in my parents garage for 20 years is now worth $1,500-$2,000. Someone on eBay is selling the same model/color, just a 94 model instead of 95, for $3,000.

Never heard of collector bikes, what kind is it?

Black 1995 GT Performer. Next time I’m back at their house or they come visit, I’m going to put it on eBay.

Oh man, I saved $300 from my Salina Journal paper route to buy a 1993 Schwinn Woodlands SE from the now-defunct Burgess Schwinn Cyclery. About five years ago, I sold it to someone on craigslist for $25.
-
I must have this thing. heading to ebay now.
