It was ridiculously fun at some points but also kinda sad. Is it time for basketball now?
-
It was a fantastic season. We won 11 games. Lots of fun all around. In the last 4 months we won at OU, killed at WVU, blew out Miami at home, and beat UT at night at home to win a DP.
-
Yes. Great season full of elite fist pump moments.
-
It's hard to see it right now, but the Miami through TCU stretch is probably the greatest run of K-State football ever.ridiculously fun and entertaining.

I can see it and it's glorious. : thumbs:
still sad we couldn't see oregon vs. bama...though I'm not sure a&m wouldn't win it all in a playoff right now.

It really was.

Get a little better every year.
-
The good far outweighs the bad. And it's hard to say a season that earned you a Big 12 trophy was not a great season.

I agree. But we really had everything lined up perfectly and we shat it away. I mean if it weren't for that Baylor game, KSU/Klein would have won every single award out there and would be playing on Monday. When I think about it this way it makes me :bang:
-
How about we exceeded all but the most irrational pre-season expectations :dunno:
-
It was a fantastic season no doubt. As fun as '98? Debateable.
Consider this...Texas A&M just completed their 4th 11-win+ season in school history. We have 7 11-win seasons in the last 16 years.

More fun than '98. That was the year we lost to A&M at the last second and ended up in the NobodyCares Bowl playing Purdue, right? That was the most depressing post season in the history of the world. I was very excited about this Oregon game from the day we won the DP until the moment UO took it to the house on the opening play on Jan. 3.

Didn't really believe all the "fanning's sock" stuff until this. Every real (non-sock) K-State fan knows the events of '98 by heart.

yeah is this a rough ridin' joke? I think winters was born in 98 and he still knows what happened

Sheesh, you all are a tough crowd. I didn't want to come off like a know-it-all. Do I have to prove it all with a play-by-play?
All we needed to do was beat A&M in the B12 champ game in St. Louis. Bishop was QB. Daddy Lockett was our key WR. We learned during the game that UCLA was beaten in their game meaning our path to the NC was completely clear. The Cotton and Fiesta had already made agreements to take Texas and (OU?? This I don't remember for sure). Anyway, after we lost a very close game (I believe we were ranked third, but UCLA also lost that weekend) we were relegated to the Alamo Bowl where we played and lost to a hapless Purdue team. Is that good enough? I was in high school at the time, so I wasn't quite as big of a fan as I am now.
BUT... does this somehow prove I am not a Fanning sock or no?

All we needed to do was beat A&M in the B12 champ game in St. Louis. Bishop was QB. Daddy Uncle Lockett was not our key WR, Darnell McDonald was. We learned during the game that UCLA was beaten in their game meaning our path to the NC was completely clear. The BCS had to take Texas A&M and the Cotton didn't take OU because they sucked and didn't even qualify so they prearranged UT. Anyway, after we lost a very close game (I believe we were ranked third, but UCLA also lost that weekend) we were delegated to the Alamo Bowl where we played and lost to a Drew Brees led Purdue team. Is that good enough? I was in high school at the time, so I was already a huge fan of EMAW.
BUT... does this somehow prove I am not a Fanning sock or no?
