Title: Juevol Homecoming Game ADV
Post by: kso_FAN on December 31, 2012, 03:46:18 PM
Juevol Myles returns. Phineas Atchison weather. Another day of rest for Angel and Tay. What more could you want for a New Year's Eve afternoon of hoops?

1st   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   34    0.88    53.8%   29.3%   21.4%   15.4%
Opp   34    0.53    22.0%   23.5%   10.5%   36.0%

Some good stretches, but a Zaga/Michigan-esque start to the 2nd half.

2nd   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   30   1.32   58.9%   23.2%   57.1%   32.1%
Opp   30   1.06   47.9%   16.5%   31.3%   54.2%

Total   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   65   1.08   56.5%   26.2%   39.3%   24.1%
Opp   65   0.77   34.7%   20.1%   20.0%   44.9%

We did see a good stretch of JO and significant 2nd half minutes. Rod being Rod. An efficient Shane stretch (after mostly lackluster play). Will... well, being will. Plus leading scorer Nino Williams (must be reading goEMAW).

11-2, which most would've gladly taken from this OOC schedule. Now league play begins against a top 1/3 league team at home. We need Angel and Tay to get healthy, but I feel decent about this team going in to Big 12 play.

Rod is fantastic last two games. Absolute treat to watch. Physical stuff.

Is there a player in our conf more important to their team this season?

oscar said Angel should be back for Okie State.

Is it too simple to blame our second half starts on lack of half time adjustments? It seems ridiculous that a coach who's been a head coach for over a decade could not make efficient halftime adjustments. But it's hard to deny how often we've come out of the locker room and looked like garbage.

Removing angel obvs kills our ball handling.  However removing rod kills our scoring options and one of our best defenders.

Its close.

Seeing this team without Angel is bad, I don't want to think about this team without Rod.
