but I just hate hate hate HATE Paul Rhoads. He is such a damn phony and a crappy 3 win a year coach. Can't stand listening to his corny bullshit speeches anymore. JFC. He's the worst Jerry, the worst.
-
A little OT, but I don't get why their fans travel so well. They drive hours just to watch mediocre teams.

Better than watching corn grow?
:dunno: :dunno:
-

Because they are simple, God fearing people, who like simple, God fearing things, like 6 win seasons and below average coaches.

And apparently Liberty Bowl losses to a C-USA team.
-
He is the worst coach in the conference. Probably the worst ever. Yes worse than Gill or who(m?)ever you can think of.
-
i don't know about the phony part. but i agree. I think more and more cyclone fans are realizing it(maybe not)
-
Iowa State..."bowl-worthy" again.
-

Meh. He is the best ISU can get.
-
I saw some ISU fan on twitter say "this is NOT ISU football"
2012 6-7
2011 6-7
2010 5-7
2009 7-6
ummmmmmm.... looks pretty iowa state to me!
-
Have a friend from high school who was super pumped to go to this game. #weirdo
-
Let's be honest here, as long as ISU is not the worst team in the conference and gets to go to a bowl game (no matter how pud it is) their fans are rough ridin' ecstatic. It must be nice to have so little make you happy; good for them!
-
the big 12 is the greatest collection of coaches compared to any other conference so i feel rhoads is probably not as bad as people think. he would be upper half in other major conferences.
isu still sucks though.
-
Damn you fuckers. I'd have been perfectly fine with 6-7 this year had I not realized bumfuck ag schools in the middle of nowhere could actually do well in football. Seriously, eff all of you.

Cry me an effin' flooded Skunk creek :bawl:
-
Didn't they lock him up for like 20 more years or something?
-
I feel like they could fill an 80,000 seat stadium with a couple of 9-10 win seasons... :sdeek:
-
here's the thing about paul rhoads. he sucks at football coaching. I mean, why even have him around?
-
How the hell is it possible for one team to beat another team by double digit points and lose to the same team by double digit points in the same god damn season? Seems like one of the biggest coaching indictments you can have.
-
that NT coach who sucks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Paul Rhoades
-
If Nebraska didn't literally give the game away to ISU a few years ago, would Rhoads be on the hot seat?
EDIT: Someone at CycloneFanatic really wants to their flood prone team to win their Super Bowl:
Aug. 31 NORTHERN IOWA - W
Sept. 14 IOWA - W
Sept. 21 at Tulsa - L
Oct. 3/5 TEXAS - L
Oct. 12 at Texas Tech - W
Oct. 19 at Baylor - L
Oct. 26 OKLAHOMA STATE (FW) - L
Nov. 2 at Kansas State - W
Nov. 9 TCU (H) - L
Nov. 16 at Oklahoma - L
Nov. 23 KANSAS - W
Nov. 29/30 at West Virginia - L
5-7 assuming Iowa continues to blow ballsac.
-
What's the deal with Iowans loving mediocrity? Ferentz got locked up forever for being mediocre and now Rhodes... I can only assume The Mayor has like a 50 yr extension coming his way.
-
A figurative flood of mediocrity, if you will.
-
Is no one else excited that haverhill is back?
-

More of a drought of success. Formalities...

I don't want you people happy.

That's not very nice. If it wasn't for the flooding, losing, ugliness, and general sucking at life, ISU is pretty much the same as KSU.
-
It really tears them up how much better at sports we are than them. They want Paul Rhoads to not be a terrible coach so bad.

Sorry Havs. Reminds me of K-State basketball from the early 90s until Huggs.
-
If ISU was a small kansas town, would Rhoads we be a fanningbrag sign ("home of jet ski champion driver") or "the plant" that provides everyone with middling wages while polluting the town?
-

Definitely the fanningbrag sign.
"3 consecutive bowl games!!!"
-

They thought he was lining up to be a LHC Bill Snyder, and they can't let go of that notion. And they truly, truly hate us most of all. More than Iowa.

A conundrum Felix.
It would be the plant, because Iowans are simple, humble folk. While they might be allowed a small measure of delusional pride, it is outsiders that would be taken with the folksy goodness and would rave at the community, unaware of the very real problems within.

It's really hard for them to watch their major sports programs languish in irrelevance while we take center stage in BCS bowl games. But, hey, what can they do about it?

FYP.

I don't want you people happy.
Well, that just isn't very nice.
-
He is just so perfect for ISU. I can't imagine him anywhere else nor can I imagine him ever winning anything while there.
-
i don't know about the phony part. but i agree. I think more and more cyclone fans are realizing it(maybe not)
Absolutely not, he is a god. As I've mentioned before they also still love Dan McCarney.

They have it worse than that because Rhodes consistently gets them to the postseason. If Wooly would have gotten us into the NIT every year instead of getting snubbed, he might still be coaching our basketball team.
-
Rhoads is just a big steaming pile of burnt ass hair.
I don't know what else I can say.

They absolutely mob a few of them who don't love "CPR"
also, they deny that 6-7 is a losing season.
Thye couldn't be any more Iowan

If Rhoads had won just one additional game each of his four seasons, we wouldn't even have this conversation.
-
If Snyder would've won one additional game in each of his 4 seasons, we would have won the north, skipped the pinstripe fiasco, had a share of Big 12/been in BCS, and be playing in the NC.

May have found something more Iowan.
wanting something in return for giving someone money is gross.
Eww. Your money just feels dirty now. In a nasty, unclean, skeevy kind of way. You should probably keep it. I donate because I love the Cyclones, win or lose. I don't donate thinking I'm buying a win.

It was a short time ago (2 years?) we got spanked 52-0 by Oklahoma. We are in every game and overachieved every year against a top 10 schedule. We are more than two seasons away from this discussion unless we go a tragic 5-19 or worse in that span.
5-19 is the cutoff line.
-
With a little bit of luck, Turner Gill could win 5 games in 2 years.
-

Pretty amazing, actually. You should tweet it to super stud Ubben.

They're angry in all the wrong ways.
Sad

You mean the K-State basketball team with multiple Big12 Championships?
It's great when people say stupid things. Gives me a chance to point out their blatant stupidity.

I would think it wouldn't burn if it was wet. Low hair burning IQ on my part though. We're never going to get to the bottom of this, probably.

You guys make Rhoads sound like someone Currie would hire.

Rhoads coaching football and Weber coaching b ball is a John Currie wet dream.

Can we consider the OSU/Neb wins as kind of the flukey success based on another coach's players as Webs? I think this is pretty close...

Snyder just has to hold on until ISU fired Rhodes and we'll be all set.

Rhodes has recruited marginally well, grading on a curve. He just recently picked up a top 5 wide out for 2014. I was listening to some hawt Des Moines sports talk while my dude Gottlieb was on commercial and even the sports talk guys don't want to go after him.
