Jump to conclusions mat out in full force. We looked pretty bad against their zone. I was not extrapolating that out to the entire game because they didn't play zone the whole game. I also agree that having no Tay/Angel makes it hard to tell. But props for actually responding with some actual observations. Baby steps I guess...

In any game where we miss point blank shots, put zero effort into rebounding and miss over half our free throws we will "struggle".

Oh I agree completely. I wasn't really trying to say that the Roo's D was our main problem in the game. You identified two keys that caused the game to be closer than it was. Overall I think there are big problems with our offense, I'm not really sure what those are. I did notice that we were particularly inept against their zone though and going forward that could spell trouble for us against a team that we should probably get one from.
But thank you for posting your honest opinion. Not being sarcastic at all. The motivation behind these three posts was to try to get people talking about basketball.

When umkc was in zone Shane and Will looked like they thought the basket was at half court. Angel will carve that crap up.
Sidenote, remember how terrible Franks 3-2 was? Automatic 3 pts for the opponent.

Why you need a legit ball handler instead of a ball mover. Penetration is the death of zone defense.
